The following excerpts from the Articles of Incorporation of CYDFI
Philippines and CYDF USA, Inc. (CA. Reg. In-Progress) are being printed to
make the public (both in the Philippines and USA) be aware on the Mission of
each respective Foundation.
...The CYDF Founders
Articles of Incorporation
of the Calantas Young Deamers Foundation, Inc.
(a nonprofit corporation founded on August 21, 2000;
based & SEC-registered in the Philippines on August 16, 2002)
That the purposes for which such association is incorporated are:
1. To facilitate much-needed material resources to benefit the poor but
talented young minds from Calantas and Nabuclod Elementary
School 6th grade graduating honor students to finish their high
school, college and possibly, graduate school education;
2. To break the cycle of poverty by helping the youth help himself and
in turn, expect him to help incoming scholars, as well;
3. To generate personal and community growth and development by
challenging SWREM Theory In Action, thus promoting social
responsibility among the youth in Bo. Calantas and Nabuclod
Negrito Community, and to promote replication advocacy of this
pioneer model to other communities.
Articles of Incorporation of the CYDF USA, Inc.
(CA. Reg. In-Progress. Adopted as a Sister Foundation of the Calantas Young Dreamers
Foundation, Inc. on 10 April 04 and Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws on 7 August 04)
That the specific purposes of this corporation are:
1. To support the mission of CYDFI Philippines in empowering
indigent but deserving talented youth of Calantas and Nabuclod Aeta
Community, Floridablanca, Pampanga, Philippines through a
Scholarship Program Model with a methodology (SWREM
Theory In Action), designed to help them help themselves so
they can help incoming scholars leading to breaking their cycle
of poverty as they learn to become socially responsible”.
2. To design Community Youth Empowerment Programs
(CYEP) that promote positive self-image, enhancement of
self-esteem, development of life and leadership skills of the
Filipino-American “high-risk” youth and their families in the
San Francisco Bay Area, California.
3. To establish a nonprofit medical model healthcare facility,
imbedded with ethnic-specific psycho-socio-emotional, religious
and culturally-sensitive services for the Filipino-American
aging population in the San Francisco Bay Area and promote
replication advocacy of said model across the country.
Note: Both Foundations have their own distinct Missions to accomplish but sharing a common
one with a methodology designed (SWREM Theory In Action) to empower youth in Calantas
and Nabuclod Negrito Community to become the best of what they are capable of being and
becoming thru its Scholarship Program, so that one day, they will be in a position to empower
other youth. This creates a predictable “positive ripple effect” to benefit society, in general.
