The vineyards of the Loire:
More than 40 appellations present at PROWEIN

With 121 exhibitors (20% more than in 2012),
Loire wines are strongly represented at
PROWEIN, a presence altogether worthy of
the third largest winegrowing area in France.
A wide range of vineyard appellations is on
display, including those that have made Loire
wines famous: Muscadet, Anjou, Saumur,
Bourgueil, Chinon, Touraine, Crémant de
Loire, Quincy, Reuilly, Sancerre, and many
more besides…
Professional visitors have the opportunity to
meet with winegrowers and producers, wine
merchants, and representatives of Loire
wines cooperative cellars all under the same
roof, and to discover tastes and colours more
than enough to satisfy the most demanding
palates:
Loire rosés: fresh wines of true quality – as
fruity as you could wish and highly original,
they are all the more enjoyable during the
summer months.
Loire reds: quaffing wines or wines to be
laid down, the former to be drunk cold in the
fullness of their youth and the latter to be
enjoyed at room temperature when they
reach maturity.
Loire whites: an infinite range of dry, mellow
and dessert wines to choose from.
Loire fine sparkling wines: a speciality of the
Ligerian vineyards, they have been elaborated
in the Saumur and Touraine regions’ cellars
since the 19 th century, using the traditional
method.

manned by representatives of the regions’
two promotional bodies – the Centréco-

Centrexport Agency for promotion and economic
development of the Centre Region, and the
SPPL, the Pays de la Loire Regional Chamber
of Agriculture’s promotional department.
An interprofessional INTERLOIRE and BIVC
stand (Hall 5 – stand E31) has a wide range
of activities and wine-tasting sessions on offer
to visitors throughout the 3 days of the fair.

Gros Plant du Pays Nantais, Fiefs Vendéens and Coteaux d’Ancenis: all three have been
promoted from VDQS to AOC.
Muscadet Sèvre et Maine: the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation has three new
communal crus to its name: Clisson, Le Pallet and Gorges.
Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru: the Quarts de Chaume appellation is now classified as Cru.
Coteaux du Layon Premier Cru Chaume: the Coteaux appellation is now classified as Cru.
Savennières: the AOC is now joined by two new appellations, Savennières Roche aux
Moines and Savennières Coulée de Serrant.
Touraine: two new complementary geographic denominations have been added to the
AOC: Chenonceaux and Oisly.

Mit 121 Ausstellern (20% mehr als 2012!)
sind die Loire-Weine stark auf der PROWEIN
vertreten, eine Präsenz, die schlicht und
einfach ihrem Platz als drittgrößtes
Weinanbaugebiet Frankreichs angemessen ist.
Eine weitgefächerte Palette von Loire-
Appellationen präsentiert sich auf der
Prowein, darunter auch die Appellationen, die
Loire-Weine im Ausland bekannt gemacht
haben wie z.B. Muscadet, Rosé d’Anjou,
Sancerre, Crémant de Loire, Pouilly Fumé,
Anjou, Saumur, Touraine und noch viele
mehr …
Der Fachbesucher hat die Gelegenheit, an
ein und demselben Ort Winzer, Kellereien,
Händler und Vertreter der Genossenschaftskellereien
zu treffen und dort die für ihn
passenden Weine zu finden:
Rosé-Weine der Loire: Breites Spektrum
an frischen und fruchtigen Weinen von
trocken bis lieblich, originell und besonders
angenehm im Sommer.
Rotweine der Loire: Leichte Weine zum
Soforttrinken oder Lagerweine, wobei die
ersten im Glanz ihrer Jugend und eher kühl und
die zweiten in reiferem Alter und temperiert
zu genießen sind.
Weißweine der Loire: In unendlichen
Spielarten erhältlich, trocken, feinherb,
halbtrocken oder edelsüß.
„Fines Bulles“ (Schaumweine) der Loire:
Besonderheit der Loire, denn sie werden
seit dem 19. Jahrhundert nach der sog.
traditionellen Methode in den Weinkellern
der Umgebung von Saumur oder der Touraine
hergestellt.
Ein interregionaler Empfangs- und Informationsstand
(Halle 5 - Stand D34) steht zu Ihrer
Verfügung. Er wird von 2 regionalen Förderungsinstitutionen
geleitet, der Centréco-
Centrexport, Agentur zur Förderung und
Wirtschaftsentwicklung der Region Centre
NEUHEITEN DES WEINBERGS
und dem SPPL, Förderungsdienst der
regionalen Landwirtschaftskammer für die
Region Pays de Loire.
Die Weinfachverbände INTERLOIRE und
BIVC (Halle 5 – Stand E31) bieten den
Besuchern ein weitgefächertes Programm
von Themenverkostungen während der
3 Messetage an.

Gros Plant du Pays Nantais, Fiefs Vendéens und Coteaux d’Ancenis: sie waren erst
VDQS und werden zu AOP Weinen.
Muscadet Sèvre et Maine: Im Herbst 2011 wurden drei der sieben speziellen
Lagen im Muscadet-Gebiet „Sèvre & Maine“ anerkannt, die als kommunale „crus“
bezeichnet werden, aber nicht mit der klassischen Cru-Definition zu verwechseln
sind : es handelt sich um Clisson, Le Pallet und Gorges. Diese „kommunalen Crus“
des Muscadet sind Weine, die man sowohl jung als auch gereift genießen kann.
Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru: Die Appellation Quarts de Chaume wird zum „Grand
Cru“ ernannt.
Coteaux du Layon Premier Cru Chaume: Die Appellation Coteaux du Layon wird
zum „Premier Cru“ ernannt.
Savennières: bekommt zwei weitere eigenständige Appellationen: Savennières
Roche aux Moines und Savennières Coulée de Serrant.
Touraine: Zwei neue Ernennungen innerhalb der Touraine-Appellation mit Touraine
Chenonceaux und Touraine Oisly.
