Classes will be filled on a first-come, firstserved basis. Enrollment opens April 22, 2013. The last day to enroll for High School Summer courses is Thursday, May 30, 2013 no later than noon. (After May 23rd , you must enroll at Heights or North). Course Fees USD 259 Students: Course fees are $90.00 per class (one half unit of course credit) All other Students: $150.00 per class (one half unit of course credit) ***No refund issued after student attends first session. ***No transportation will be provided for Summer School. Attendance Policy Students are expected to be present each day of summer school without exception. When students are unable to be present for the entire 12 days, students risk removal from the summer school opportunity without credit and without refund. Family vacations, doctor appointments, and other commitments should not be planned during summer school classes. No make-up sessions will be held. Three (3) tardies equal one(1) absence. Any student late after 30 minutes to a session is considered absent. Students with one(1) absence will be withdrawn with an “F”. * Emergency absences will be up to the discretion of the principal.
Behavior Expectations Conduct Conduct which interferes with the rights of other students to learn will not be tolerated and could result in removal from Summer School. Events surrounding the reason the student is sent to the office will be investigated and due process given. (No refunds) Smoking or Use of Tobacco Smoking or any use of tobacco on USD 259 property may result in dismissal from Summer School. Dress and Courtesy The general atmosphere of a school must be conducive to learning. If a student’s general appearance attracts undue attention to the extent that it becomes a disruptive factor, the student will be asked to make necessary changes. Cell Phones/Music Devices Cell phone usage is prohibited during class (instructional) time. The use of music devices during class (instructional) time is at the discretion of the classroom teacher. All USD 259 BOE Policies are in effect for Summer School. USD 259 is not responsible for damaged or stolen electronic devices brought to summer school by students. Learning Centers The Learning Centers will be open at all comprehensive high schools. during Summer School. Inquire at the individual schools for details.
