New LRH CEO<br />
<strong>Lander</strong> Regional Hospital (LRH)<br />
announced recently that Stephen M.<br />
Erixon, FACHE, a veteran hospital administrator<br />
with more than 30 years <strong>of</strong><br />
concentrated healthcare experience, will<br />
become its new chief executive <strong>of</strong>ficer<br />
(CEO) effective <strong>June</strong> 4. Erixon replaces<br />
Rebecca Brewer, who has served the hospital<br />
as interim CEO since November.<br />
"We are fortunate to have someone<br />
<strong>of</strong> Steve's caliber <strong>of</strong> experience and expertise<br />
leading <strong>Lander</strong> Regional Hospital<br />
into the future," said Don Bivacca, president<br />
<strong>of</strong> the National Division <strong>of</strong> LifePoint<br />
Hospitals(r) <strong>of</strong> which LRH is a part. "He<br />
has a proven track record <strong>of</strong> success in<br />
driving quality improvement, building<br />
strong relationships with physicians and<br />
staff, expanding service lines, and growing<br />
market share."<br />
According to Bivacca, Erixon comes<br />
to <strong>Lander</strong> Regional Hospital from Rainy<br />
Lake Medical Center in International<br />
Falls, Minnesota, where he has served as<br />
interim CEO since January 2011. Previously,<br />
he was president and CEO <strong>of</strong><br />
Skaggs Regional Medical Center in Branson,<br />
Missouri from 2006 to 2009; president<br />
and CEO <strong>of</strong> Baxter Regional Medical<br />
Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas<br />
from 1998 to 2006; CEO <strong>of</strong> Memorial<br />
Mother Frances Hospital in Palestine,<br />
Texas from 1996 to 1998; and CEO <strong>of</strong><br />
Columbia Bay Area Medical Center in<br />
Corpus Christi, Texas from 1993 to 1996.<br />
He was also a hospital administrator for<br />
Hospital Corporation <strong>of</strong> America (HCA)<br />
from 1987-1993.<br />
Erixon holds a Master <strong>of</strong> Health Administration<br />
degree from Duke University<br />
and a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Arts degree in<br />
business economics from the University<br />
<strong>of</strong> California at Santa Barbara. He is<br />
Board Certified in Healthcare Management<br />
and a fellow <strong>of</strong> the American College<br />
<strong>of</strong> Healthcare Executives.<br />

over the past six months. Her commitment<br />
to helping our hospital manage this<br />
period <strong>of</strong> transition with such tremendous<br />
