QCS Trial 1 Timetable and Instructions for Students

QCS TRIALS – TERM 1 2011
FOR ALL YEAR 12 STUDENTS
Please note these times are different to the Exam Block. The reason for this is that these
timings reflect the timings for the actual QCS Test on August 30 th and August 31 st 2011

Instructions to students: a summary
The following instructions appear on all QCS papers. Students are advised to be familiar with these instructions.
1. Arrive in time for the sessions for the test at the Centenary Centre.
2. Ensure that you have all of your own essential equipment and any of the optional equipment you think
necessary.
3. Do not bring a mobile phone or any other communication device into the test room.
4. Bring only permitted (i.e. essential and optional) equipment into the test room.

5. Enter the test room when told to do so.
6. Sit in the place in the test room as instructed by Exam Supervisors.
7. Do not talk (to other students or to yourself) after you have been admitted to the test room.
8. Do not communicate in any way with other students after you have been admitted to the test room.
9. When directed to do so, accurately copy your student number onto the WT response book, the MC response
sheets and the SR testpaper.
10. Carefully follow the directions given on all your test materials.
11. Do not call out at any time or for any reason.
12. Do not pass material or equipment to another student.
13. Do not ask a supervisor to explain a test paper or interpret a test item.
14. Do not ask a supervisor about any possible error in the content of a test paper.
15. Stand quietly in your place if you:
• Find faulty printing in your test paper/response sheet/response book
• Find that there is a duplicate/missing page
• Need pen/pencil/eraser (but not any other equipment)
• Need extra sheets of A4 paper (WT session only)
• Need an extra response book for the WT
• Need an extra test paper for the SR
• Need help because you have become ill
• Need to leave the room temporarily.
16. Keep your MC response sheets covered where possible.
17. Keep your WT and SR responses covered where possible.
18. Do not cheat. (Students found cheating may have their result in the QCS Test withheld and may be ineligible for
Overall Positions).
19. Do not seek to hand in your response book/response sheet/test paper and leave in the first 40 minutes from the
beginning of perusal time or in the last 10 minutes of the session.
20. Do not continue working after time is up. (This could lead to your QCS Test result being withheld)
21. Do not leave the test room until told that you many do so.
22. At the end of the session, a supervisor will collect the following:
• Session 1 (WT) Response book
• Session 2 (MCI) Response sheet
• Session 3 (SR) Test paper
• Session 4 (MCII) Response sheet
23. Take the WT test paper, MC test papers and SR miniature with you.
24. Follow all directions given by supervisors.
