<strong>QCS</strong> TRIALS – TERM 1 2011<br />

FOR ALL YEAR 12 STUDENTS<br />

Please note these times are different to the Exam Block. The reason <strong>for</strong> this is that these<br />

timings reflect the timings <strong>for</strong> the actual <strong>QCS</strong> Test on August 30 th <strong>and</strong> August 31 st 2011<br />

<strong>Instructions</strong> to students: a summary<br />

The following instructions appear on all <strong>QCS</strong> papers. <strong>Students</strong> are advised to be familiar with these instructions.<br />

1. Arrive in time <strong>for</strong> the sessions <strong>for</strong> the test at the Centenary Centre.<br />

2. Ensure that you have all of your own essential equipment <strong>and</strong> any of the optional equipment you think<br />

necessary.<br />

3. Do not bring a mobile phone or any other communication device into the test room.<br />

4. Bring only permitted (i.e. essential <strong>and</strong> optional) equipment into the test room.<br />

5. Enter the test room when told to do so.<br />

6. Sit in the place in the test room as instructed by Exam Supervisors.<br />

7. Do not talk (to other students or to yourself) after you have been admitted to the test room.<br />

8. Do not communicate in any way with other students after you have been admitted to the test room.<br />

9. When directed to do so, accurately copy your student number onto the WT response book, the MC response<br />

sheets <strong>and</strong> the SR testpaper.<br />

10. Carefully follow the directions given on all your test materials.<br />

11. Do not call out at any time or <strong>for</strong> any reason.<br />

12. Do not pass material or equipment to another student.<br />

13. Do not ask a supervisor to explain a test paper or interpret a test item.<br />

14. Do not ask a supervisor about any possible error in the content of a test paper.<br />

15. St<strong>and</strong> quietly in your place if you:<br />

• Find faulty printing in your test paper/response sheet/response book<br />

• Find that there is a duplicate/missing page<br />

• Need pen/pencil/eraser (but not any other equipment)<br />

• Need extra sheets of A4 paper (WT session only)<br />

• Need an extra response book <strong>for</strong> the WT<br />

• Need an extra test paper <strong>for</strong> the SR<br />

• Need help because you have become ill<br />

• Need to leave the room temporarily.<br />

16. Keep your MC response sheets covered where possible.<br />

17. Keep your WT <strong>and</strong> SR responses covered where possible.<br />

18. Do not cheat. (<strong>Students</strong> found cheating may have their result in the <strong>QCS</strong> Test withheld <strong>and</strong> may be ineligible <strong>for</strong><br />

Overall Positions).<br />

19. Do not seek to h<strong>and</strong> in your response book/response sheet/test paper <strong>and</strong> leave in the first 40 minutes from the<br />

beginning of perusal time or in the last 10 minutes of the session.<br />

20. Do not continue working after time is up. (This could lead to your <strong>QCS</strong> Test result being withheld)<br />

21. Do not leave the test room until told that you many do so.<br />

22. At the end of the session, a supervisor will collect the following:<br />

• Session 1 (WT) Response book<br />

• Session 2 (MCI) Response sheet<br />

• Session 3 (SR) Test paper<br />

• Session 4 (MCII) Response sheet<br />

23. Take the WT test paper, MC test papers <strong>and</strong> SR miniature with you.<br />

24. Follow all directions given by supervisors.
