Tobey pitched the perfect game against the Lexington
Christian Academy baseball team in front of a huge
home crowd on the Hilltop in the quarter-fi nal game
of the NEPSAC tournament. The team lost in the
semi-fi nals but had an extremely successful season
with perfect game being the highlight. Mike Hannon
received Coach of the Year honors
in the EIL and seniors Ethan
Hawes, Curtis McCabe, and
Shaun Millerick were solid
and consistent contributors all
season.
The Girls Varsity Tennis
team earned some hardware this
spring, winning the “B” bracket
championship the last weekend
of the season. This was certainly
a highlight for the team as they
came together down the stretch
and played their best tennis when
it counted the most. Seniors
Maggie Sutherland and Olivia
Zeff performed well, and their
leadership was crucial to the
team’s end-of-year success.
With only one senior
and one junior earning varsity tennis credit this
spring, the Boys Varsity Tennis team was a group of
many new faces and potential growth for the future.
The team finished 6-6 overall, a strong start for such a
young team. A highlight for the season was beating the
Bancroft School for the first time in over ten years. Four
freshmen joined the team this year, the most ever, and
this bodes well for a promising future of boys’ tennis at
Berwick.
The Girl’s Varsity Lacrosse had a very exciting
season this spring with some huge wins over top EIL
teams. The girls upset The Winsor School early in the
season despite battling
numerous injuries on
the team. They also
put up some large goal
totals vs. the Hyde
School and Hebron
Academy in those wins.
The lady laxers played
an up-tempo style
this spring, pushing
transition and playing
aggressive defense.
Seniors Brianna
Bouchard, Lee Tsairis,
and Ashley Gray all
made outstanding
contributions to the
terrifi c season.
The Boys Lacrosse
team had a solid
season, qualifying for
the NEPSAC Tournament and fi nishing third in EIL.
Chris Atwood was selected as the EIL MVP by the
coaches, which marked the second consecutive year
Berwick has won that individual honor. Last year’s
winner was Aaron Harris. The team had only two
seniors on the squad, and the future bodes well for next
year’s team.
