Stephanie Kendall Jaggars:
Greetings, Class of 1989. Hope you
are all doing well! Happy summer
to everyone. The Jaggars family
is doing great! Our son Wilson is
13 months old; and our twin girls,
Reese and Kendall, are five and a
half years old. The girls will start
kindergarten in the fall and had a
great year in pre-school. Wilson
has had a super first year. He is all
boy and so much fun! Our doggies,
Pemi and Bridger, complete the
Jaggars posse. Pemi celebrated her
13th birthday this year and Bridger is two. We look
forward to a great summer of beaching, hiking, biking,
camping, and traveling to Washington State to see Jeff’s
family, trips to Maine and Northern NH, and family
visits! Hope you all have a great summer!
1990

Nicole Fortin Strangman: Our family has expanded
since I last wrote; Conall, our third son, was born
last June. Life is full as I continue to split my time
between caring for the boys and working part-time
as a medical writer, which I have been fortunate to do
on a telecommuting basis. I have been making the trip
from Massachusetts to Maine more frequently lately
to tie off my father’s affairs after his untimely death in
January. Maybe I will see some of you at the reunion.
1991
Lisa Karnan: I received my PhD in Religion from
Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA, this
past September. I also published a short story in the
anthology Things We Are Not: M-Brane SF Presents
New Tales of the Queer this past fall. Please feel free to

1993
Jo Ann Gates Beltre (top center): I traveled to Haiti ten
days after the earthquake as a volunteer with Flying
Doctors of America, an NGO that runs medical
missions throughout the
developing world. I left the
comfort of private pediatrics
in Exeter, NH, to offer my
help to children who, at that
time, were desperately in
need. At the time I left, I had
no idea where I would be
staying or what I would be
doing. I traveled with three
other doctors and a nurse.
We ended up at a Mission in
Cabaret, Haiti, about 15 miles
northwest of Port-au-Prince
and well within the “red zone” of the epicenter of the
earthquake. My experience there can be described as
an unusual mixture of horrifying and wonderful and
was truly life-changing. During my time there, I had
the opportunity to send a few emails to my friends
and family, which illustrate my experience. All of

Jon Sevigney: and his
wife, Katelyn, welcomed
son Maximus Theodore

May. Born seven pounds,
12 ounces. Congratulations
to the new family.
Steve Dow: Hope
everyone in the Class of
95 is doing well and is
excited for our 15th Class
Reunion during Alumni
Weekend on September 24-25! It promises to be a
great event with the new weekend format, including
dinner and dancing, student performances, student
sports competitions, golf and possibly an opportunity
to play on the new turf fi eld! I hope to see all of you
there–we’re anticipating a great turnout.
In other news, I recently had dinner with a group of
Berwick alums spanning several years. Chava Kallberg
’93, T.J. Jurevic ’94 and Sara Parkinson Gibbons ’97 all
came out to enjoy our semi-regular dinner and drinks
outing in Boston. If there are other Boston-area alums
who would like to join us, please let me know. Again,
hope everyone is having a great summer and look
forward to seeing everyone in September.
