L’Etape du Tour (French for
“A Stage of the Tour”) is
a European cyclosportive
that attracts over 8,000
riders annually to gather
and ride a stage of the
Tour de France, over its
most famous climbs. But
it wasn’t always as good
as it is today.
“It was the most incredible
scenery I have ever seen
over one day. Every time
you turned around there
was another mountain,
glacier, waterfall, or
a tunnel through a
mountain. Unbelievable.
But while it was a great
race, the rest stops were
not the best. Some had
no water or food. Others
were so overcrowded with
lines of riders. We had to
finish by 6 pm with time
cuts at the base of the
Alpe D’Huez, Izoard and
Latauret, and that requires
complete assistance.
That first year, the climbs
were so incredible, but
it definitely lacked the
proper support. I thought,
we can do better.
And that’s exactly what
we’ve done. Today, L’Etape
is just as epic. It’s just as
amazing. But when you
sign up with Trek Travel,

from start to finish, with
plenty of food, drinks and
mechanical support on
