Introduction
„For us, quality is not just about products.
It’s a way of thinking”
For us, quality is an all-embracing company philosophy – the sum of
all activities within our company’s value chain. This applies just as
much to innovative product development and training as it does to
consultation and service. And, it goes without saying that for us at
BECKER quality also means compliance with essential international
standards, such as DIN ISO EN 9001 or the European CE marking.
But we go far beyond this.
Perhaps this is why we have succeeded in developing into an
international family-run company in the space of eight decades. We
are committed to shaping the future by setting new standards in
high-quality technology – with the help of creativity and innovation.
In this sense, we see the products on the following pages as the result
of our prevailing company maxims, and we will be delighted if they can
also contribute to the success of your business.
Safe and easy to install: the new
DMR drive and control system
AW 25 – A 140 Single phase and three-phase A.C. drives with mechanical limit switching
A 50 E – A 140 E with electronic limit switching
A 50 DMR – A 70 DMR sectional door drives with torque control
Our three limit switching concepts provide maximum flexibility for spring-balanced sectional doors
in both the private and industrial sector. Complemented by our superior control technology, they
are the perfect solution for a wide range of applications.
From single phase drives for door weights up to approx. 480 kg and
door speeds up to 0.29 m/s through to three-phase drives for door
weights up to approx. 780 kg with door speeds up to 0.33 m/s – all of
our sectional door drives with disconnecting clutch can be easily
disconnected from the door shaft, e.g. in the event of a power failure.
Equipped with this special design feature, the drives meet the stringent
requirements for fire stations, doors, DIN 14092 and the guidelines for
power-operated doors. In addition, with the aid of a suitable cable
drum, the drive will easily reach the opening speed required by this
standard. Setting the end limits is particularly easy and convenient on
drives A 50 E – A 140 E with electronic limit switching: the final limit
positions can be set from the ground using the S 80 door control.
DMR stands for torque control and means that BECKER drives A 50
DMR and A 70 DMR operate without final limit positions. This offers
palpable advantages when it comes to installation, as no adjustment
is required to the final limit positions when the door is installed. A
single raising and lowering of the door suffices to set the final limit
positions. In the event of subsequent changes to the opening dimensions,
e.g. due to laying of a screed, the intelligent DMR control automatically
adjusts to this and carefully regulates the torque requirement of the
door in every position. Alongside the exceptional ease of installation,
this system provides optimal safety. In addition to the standard
bottom pneumatic safety-edge rail, the DMR control stops the door as
soon as it is subjected to any mechanical stress which causes the
torque requirement to increase unexpectedly, e.g. if a fork lift truck
drives into the door. Intermediate positions can also be conveniently
programmed with the DMR control: the practical summer/winter
setting of the door is a prime example.
Whether dead-man’s control or self-locking, with pneumatic, electrical or optical rail – we have the perfect solution
for all your requirements.

„For us, quality is not just about
products.
Perhaps this is why we have succeeded in developing into an international
family-run company in the space of eight decades. We are
committed to shaping the future by setting new standards in
high-quality technology – with the help of creativity and innovation.
In this sense, we see the products on the following pages as the result
of our prevailing company maxims, and we will be delighted if they
can also contribute to the success of your business.
The FU 750 frequency converter and
WSTE 1000 FU control for door drives
Sectional and PVC doors with conventional drive technology are
subjected to extreme forces during quick acceleration and deceleration.
If you want to prevent mechanical damage and at the same time reduce
door running times, this can be achieved using variable door running
speeds with converter technology. BECKER offers an attractive drive
system and a control with a high- performance frequency converter,
tailored specifically to these requirements in the door sector. The
frequency converter varies voltage and frequency, so that the drive
Information on application areas of frequency converter technology
Electrical drives have become an important and defining constituent
of many machines and doors. Their behaviour has a considerable
influence on product quality and costs!
In order to adapt the drives to optimal production conditions,
speed-variable drive solutions are required.
When designing a drive for a door system, the characteristics of the
door system form the focus of attention.
These characteristics determine the selection and design of the drive
solution. The power requirement and door speed are essential
requirements. As regards the drive, torque and speed are the
determining factors.
8. BECKER S 100 DMR door control
Application: For operation of spring-balanced sectional doors in conjunction
with BECKER door drives with torque control, without final limit
positions. A single ascent and descent of the door suffices to set
the end limits. If the opening dimensions change, the intelligent DMR
control automatically adjusts and regulates the torque requirement.
Beck-O-Mat 520/820

Beck-O-Mat 520/820: The electronic garage door drive
with radio remote control
Whether it is a limousine, a flash sports car or an old banger, you
like driving your car in comfort and safety. For those who also
value security and convenience in a garage door, BECKER opens
up new horizons: with the Beck-O-Mat 520/820 electronic
garage door drive and innovative radio remote control.
The modern hand-held transmitter means you have everything
under control: it is compatible with all popular vehicle radio
systems and allows you to operate your garage door easily at the
touch of a button. At the same time, you can switch on the
garage lighting integrated into the drive.
Programming the Beck-O-Mat using a menu also means you
have everything you could want: you only need to move the
drive up and down once and the settings are adjusted to suit your
garage door. The integrated light-emitting diodes provide you
with information about the operational status of the door at
any time.
As far as safety is concerned, Beck-O-Mat is ahead of its time:
thanks to its electronic obstacle recognition, the drive stops
immediately when the door meets with an obstacle.
The Beck-O-Mat also puts paid to burglars’ plans. With a solid
steel chain and self-locking gearing, it protects the door from
being pulled open forcibly and makes it virtually impossible for
unwelcome guests to enter the garage.
Your competent specialist for consultation, demonstration and installation of all BECKER products:
electronic obstacle detection feature, it stops as soon as the door
encounters an obstacle, thus preventing dangerous accidents and
collisions. Equipped with a robust steel chain and self-locking gear,
the drive also offers effective protection against forced entry, and
makes it as good as impossible for intruders to access the garage.
BECKER – it's that easy.
Advantages in application:
• Separate overload detection feature during ascent and descent
• Menu-guided programming
• Extensive safety devices
• Smooth-running door system
• Adjustable garage light
• Cable connections plug-in type, without the need to open the drive
• Stop during opening (prevents objects or people being caught
when raising the door system)
• Contactless door control enabled by use of a light barrier
• Maintenance-free chain tensioning
