9. Food Service Management<br />

Motion to approve and authorize the Business Administrator to renew the contract<br />

with Maschio for the period of September 1, <strong>20</strong>13 to June 30, <strong>20</strong>14:<br />

• <strong>North</strong> <strong>Warren</strong> agrees to pay Maschio an increase of 1.5% annual<br />

administrative fee of $10,450, for the <strong>20</strong>13/<strong>20</strong>14 school year.<br />

• In the event Maschio’s annual statement reflects anything less than a<br />

$15,000 profit, Maschio will pay the <strong>School</strong> Food Authority (NWR) the<br />

difference between the actual and the guaranteed profit.<br />

• Set the school “Type A” lunch price at $2.85 per meal and $3.10 per meal<br />

premium lunch.<br />

• Set Ala Carte menu prices as attached.<br />

Note: No change in lunch prices.<br />

Motion to approve a stipend amount of $7,500.00 for Tina Ritchie as Bullying<br />

Superintendent.<br />

4. Family Medical Leave of Absence – B. Kazimierczak<br />

Motion to approve an unpaid Family Medical Leave (FMLA) for Barbara<br />

Kazimierczak effective <strong>May</strong> 7, <strong>20</strong>13 through June 21, <strong>20</strong>13.<br />

5. Substitute Teacher - Math<br />

Motion to appoint Emily Blanchette, as a substitute Math Teacher, from<br />

<strong>May</strong> 28, <strong>20</strong>13 until June 21, <strong>20</strong>13, at a rate of $75.00 per day, as recommended by<br />

the Superintendent.<br />

Motion to approve the use of school equipment for the participation of two NWR<br />

students in the Robeson Classic All-Star Football game to be held in June <strong>20</strong>13.<br />

12. Resolution – NJ <strong>School</strong> Boards Association Insurance Group<br />

Motion to approve the following Resolution:<br />

WHEREAS, the New Jersey <strong>School</strong> Boards Association Insurance Group<br />

(NJSBAIG) Board of Trustees approved proposed amendments to its Bylaws at a<br />

public meeting on March <strong>20</strong>, <strong>20</strong>13 in accordance with Article IX (C) of the current<br />

NJSBAIG Bylaws; and<br />

WHEREAS, the current NJSBAIG Bylaws require for the proposed<br />

amendments to be approved by member school district; and<br />

WHEREAS, seventy-five percent (3/4) of the member school districts must<br />

approve the proposed amendments within one hundred eight (180) days of the<br />

hearing on the amendments:<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that at a regular meeting of the<br />

<strong>North</strong> <strong>Warren</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> Board of Education held on <strong>May</strong> <strong>20</strong>, <strong>20</strong>13, the Board does<br />

hereby approve the proposed amendments to the NJSBAIG Bylaws.<br />

13. Affirmative Action Officer Appointment – L. Melchor<br />

Motion to approve the following Resolution:<br />

WHEREAS, an affirmative action complaint has been filed and is being<br />

investigated by Louis Melchor, the <strong>District</strong> Affirmative Action Officer; and<br />

WHEREAS, Dr. Brian Fogelson, the Superintendent of <strong>School</strong>s is required to<br />

participate and render a decision on any appeal of the Affirmative Action<br />

Officer’s decision; and<br />

WHEREAS, the Board has determined that Dr. Brian Fogelson may not<br />

participate in the appeal of any decision by the Affirmative Action Officer due to<br />

a conflict of interest; and<br />

WHEREAS, any action which may be necessary by the Board as a<br />

consequence of the Affirmative Action investigation requires the recommendation<br />

of the Superintendent; and<br />

WHEREAS, Louis Melchor possesses a certificate of eligibility to act as a<br />

superintendent and has agreed for the limited purpose of implementing the<br />

Board’s affirmative action policy to act as Acting Superintendent.<br />

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board hereby appoints<br />

Louis Melchor as the Acting Superintendent for the limited purpose of<br />

implementing the Board’s affirmative action policy.<br />
