<strong>FMM</strong><br />

Instute was incorporated as a separate com pa ny of the<br />

Federaon of Malaysian Man u fac tur ers (<strong>FMM</strong>) on <strong>January</strong><br />

<strong>12</strong>, 1999. This effort was specifically to expand and focus on its train ing func ons,<br />

in line with the objecves of <strong>FMM</strong> to develop the potenals and enhance the skills<br />

of per son nel at every level in the industry. This will create a pool of manpower<br />

trained in all aspects of in dus tri al skills and management ca pa bil i es to face the<br />

chal leng es as the country moves into the status of an in dus tri al naon.<br />

Connuing professional educaon pro vides the opportunity for the working<br />

per son nel to gain the necessary qual i fi ca ons to upgrade themselves both<br />

professionally as well as for self-development. This opportunity is made possible<br />

through <strong>FMM</strong> Instute’s Cer fi cate and Di plo ma courses in selected ar eas of<br />

in dus tri al and man age ment skills. <strong>FMM</strong> Instute obtained its In s tu on of<br />

Private Higher Educaon (IPTS) status from the Ministry of Educaon on July<br />

19, 2001 to offer Diploma and other higher level courses. Efforts are ongoing to<br />

offer Degree and Masters level courses specially designed to meet the Train ing<br />

Needs of the Man u fac tur ers.<br />

A wide range of training courses are also offered on an in-house basis. These<br />

include all the public courses as well as those that need to be specially customised<br />

to meet the training needs of specific in dus tries. Course outlines and objecves<br />

are discussed with the com pa nies and trainers will be selected to develop the<br />

courses accordingly. All in-house courses are packaged to be cost effecve for<br />

com pa nies with no com pro mise on the qual i ty of the course and the desired<br />

result. <strong>FMM</strong> Instute is a registered <strong>Training</strong> Provider with Pembangunan Sumber<br />

Manusia berhad (PSMB).<br />

<strong>FMM</strong> Instute, <strong>Perak</strong> is housed at Ipoh, <strong>Perak</strong>. It has 4 modern training rooms<br />

with a total seang capacity of <strong>12</strong>0 parcipants and one <strong>FMM</strong> Hall that can<br />

accommodate a total of 80 parcipants.<br />

HRDF <strong>Training</strong> Schemes<br />

Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF)<br />

<strong>FMM</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> is a registered training<br />

provider with Pembangunan Sumber<br />

Manusia Berhad (PSMB) and it ensures<br />

that all its programmes comply with the<br />

requirements of the Human Resourde<br />

Development Board to be eligible for<br />

training grants under HRDF.<br />

<strong>Training</strong> Schemes under the HRDF<br />

Employers who are registered with PSMB<br />

are eligible for training grants through the<br />

various schemes available under the HRDF.<br />

The schemes are as follows<br />

Employers who are registered with Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad<br />

(PSMB) are eligible for training grants through the various schemes available<br />

under the HRDF. The Scemes are as follows:<br />

SBL Schemes (SBL)<br />

Employers can claim for reimbursement from HRDF upon completion<br />

of programme. However, approval from PSMB is required prior to<br />

commencement of programme by completing Form PSMB/PGL/1/09 or<br />

via online thru Employer Information System (EIS). <strong>Training</strong> grants can<br />

be considered for all types of training courses (both in-house and external)<br />

for the retraining and skills upgrading of employees relevant to the needs of<br />

employers.<br />

PERLA Scheme (PERLA)<br />

<strong>FMM</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> will claim the entire amount directly from the employer’s<br />

account with HRDF. Under this scheme, no prior application for programme<br />

approval is required, except application for levy reservation. However,<br />

employer must submit Form PSMB/PER/T2/06 to <strong>FMM</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> before the<br />

commencement of programme. It is only applicable for training programmes<br />

with Approved <strong>Training</strong> Programme (ATP) status.<br />

Prolus Scheme (PROLUS)<br />

Under this scheme, employers are not required to obtain prior approvals from<br />

PSMB to attend the programme. It is only for training programmes with<br />

approved <strong>Training</strong> Programme (ATP) status.<br />

SBL -Khas Schemes (SBL-K)<br />

Similar to PERLA scheme but approval from PSMB is required prior to<br />

commencement of programme by completing Form PSMB/T/1/09 or via<br />

online thru Employer Information System (EIS). Employers must submit<br />

form PSMB/SBL-KHAS/T2/09 to <strong>FMM</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> prior to commencement<br />

of programme.<br />

RATE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The rate of reimbursement for all types of locally conducted training programmes is 100%.<br />
