(minimum, PSA). Aberfoyle nest on public CCTV (DOE). 1 on low ground Feb<br />
& 12 Aug-Dec. Records in breeding areas Mar-Nov. Seen over freshly killed<br />
Black-headed Gull, stooped at Crows, Jackdaws, ducks flushed by observer, Teal<br />
– stoop aborted due to near collision with deerfence (DJC DAC DP MA RD SS<br />
AS).<br />
RED GROUSE Lagopus lagopus (B,W)<br />
Generally under-recorded. BBS shows 6 per 10 km on moorl<strong>and</strong>.<br />
S 4 sites in Gargunnocks-Kippen Muir, max 13 Cringate 13 Jan (GO NB). Heard<br />
Fl<strong>and</strong>ers Moss 23 May. (SS).<br />
BLACK GROUSE Tetrao tetrix (B,W)<br />
S 25 lek sites totalling 82 Ms (15 % decrease over 1999 – nb data published in 1999<br />
report was based on incomplete sample); one lek visited by hybrid M Black<br />
Grouse/Capercaillie, as 1999, & also, on 13 Apr, by a bird with body colour <strong>and</strong><br />
tail shape as Red Grouse but white mark on wing <strong>and</strong> white undertail –<br />
presumably a hybrid with Black Grouse (DJC). 10 Ardeonaig (L.Tay) 10 Mar<br />
