2009: Had a breakout year for the Wildcats, especially during his<br />

outdoor campaign…During the season, the only long jump event<br />

that Rivera-Morales didn’t win in which he competed was the 2009<br />

NCAA Outdoor Championship where he still earned All-American<br />

honors with his sixth place finish…He was the conference champion<br />

indoors <strong>and</strong> outdoors in both the long <strong>and</strong> triple jumps...Set the fourth<br />

longest jump in UA history with his winning mark of 7.96m (26-1 ½),<br />

also a career bestHis second best career mark was the 7.94m (26-0 ½)<br />

mark he set at the National Championship meetIt was the first time<br />

a UA long jumper had scored on the national level since 1984He also<br />

set the UAs third biggest triple jump mark at 15.97m (52-4 ¾) at the<br />

Mt. Sac RelaysIs the only UA athlete outside of 1964 Olympian Gayle<br />

Hopkins to hold top-10 school marks in both long jump events…<br />

2008: Clearly one of the top newcomers during the 2008 season…<br />

Rivera began his UA career with a bang as he set an indoor stadium<br />

record in his first meet as a Wildcat at the Blue <strong>and</strong> Orange Classic in<br />

Idaho with his jump of 7.82m (25-8) in the long jump…Went on to<br />

finish the indoor season with a ninth place finish at the NCAA National<br />

Indoor Championships, jumping the same distance of 7.82m…<br />

During the outdoor season, Rivera again competed in the NCAA<br />

National Championships after finishing in fifth at the West Regional<br />

Championships in the long jump with his mark of<br />

7.54m (24-9)…Earned All-Conference honors in<br />

both the long <strong>and</strong> triple jump events…<br />
