Angelica N. Kraemer<br />
Angelica Kraemer is a graduate student working toward an M.A. degree in<br />
TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a Ph.D. degree in<br />
German. As an international student from Germany she has participated in<br />
numerous international activities. She has worked as a facilitator for the <strong>International</strong><br />
Teaching Assistant Orientation by helping new students adjust to campus and<br />
preparing them for teaching responsibilities.<br />
She has volunteered for programs offered through the Department of<br />
Linguistics and Languages to introduce children to language learning and to create<br />
interest in and appreciation of the German culture. She also team-taught a six-week<br />
conversational English course for spouses of MSU students.<br />
This spring she is the chair for AWorld Languages Day,@ an event where high<br />
school students, teachers, administrators, and parents are invited to campus to<br />
explore a world of languages. She will teach a session of German language and<br />
culture and coordinate Phi Beta Delta=s involvement in facilitating the event.<br />
As a member of the international honor society, Phi Beta Delta, she has<br />
been very active. She was elected to the Board and represented the MSU chapter at<br />
the national conferences for 2004 and <strong>2005</strong> and at the <strong>International</strong> Opportunities<br />
Fair on campus in October 2004.<br />
Angelica has given her time to increase international understanding and to<br />
motivate others to learn languages and improve communication across cultures.<br />
