Assists parents in teaching basic daily living skills to their children, including learning<br />
interventions to handle intensive negative behaviors. Teach parents how to identify<br />
their own stress and limitations, how to ask <strong>for</strong> help, and how to develop and<br />
implement crisis plans with their child.<br />
Parenting classes address various topics specific to parenting, such as<br />
nurturing parenting, talking to kids so they'll listen and learning to sign with<br />
your baby.<br />
Through videos, workbooks and sharing, participants learn techniques to become<br />
more effective parents.<br />
Mothers’ support group <strong>for</strong> those with twins/triplets. Meets the 1st Thursday of each<br />
month at the Women's <strong>Resource</strong> Center, 50 Doctors Dr., in Asheville, from 7 to<br />
8:00pm.<br />
Offers parent education classes, parent support groups and other services to families.<br />
Eight week, hands-on, creative learning program <strong>for</strong> parents with children of all ages<br />
who want to make a difference in their child's life and improve their parent-child<br />
relationship. The sessions will teach how to manage stress, improve communication<br />
skills, avoid power struggles with children, and build a support system to help in<br />
raising children.<br />

signs/symptoms of prenatal problems to report to their physician, and offer support<br />
services to promote a healthy pregnancy. Visits moms and their newborns in their<br />
home within 60 days of delivery to check <strong>for</strong> complications, educate on postpartum<br />
& newborn care, and offer support & referrals to community resources<br />
