Lenox Historical Society thanks the citizens and Town of Lenox for their support
in helping us preserve the history and heritage of Lenox. We relish the growth of
our organization and invite new members to join us. Please visit our Museum of
Lenox History. It’s a valuable asset to our town and belongs to all of us.

REPORT OF THE LENOX CULTURAL COMMITTEE
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the Citizens of Lenox:
The Lenox Cultural Council Committee will receive the sum of $4,300 from
the Massachusetts Cultural Council for the 2009 grant cycle. We have $900 in unencumbered
funds which we will add to this amount for a total of $5,200. In late
September we issued press releases to inform the public of the October 15 deadline
for applications. We received a total of 38 applications. The Committee met on
November 18 to vote on allocation of this money. We awarded full or partial funding
to 21 applicants. We chose programs that would serve Lenox residents from
preschoolers to senior citizens. The wide range of offerings will include music,
dance, theatre, history and art.
We wish to thank retiring member Caitlin Nash for her service on this committee.
Caitlyn was instrumental in the writing of the new guidelines which are posted on
our website.
