STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br />
STUDENT CODE <strong>OF</strong> CONDUCT<br />
INTRODUCTION<br />
DEFINITIONS<br />
1. The term “<strong>College</strong>” means <strong>Fisher</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
2. The term “student” includes all persons taking courses at the <strong>College</strong>, either full-time or part-time, either on<br />
campus or online, pursuing undergraduate or professional studies. Persons who withdraw after allegedly violating<br />
the Student Code, who are not officially enrolled for a particular term but who have a continuing relationship with<br />
the <strong>College</strong> or who have been notified of their acceptance for admission are considered “students” as are persons<br />
who are living in <strong>College</strong> residence halls, although not enrolled in this institution. This Student Code does apply to<br />
all locations of the <strong>College</strong>, including the campus locations in North Attleborough, Brockton, and New Bedford.<br />
3. The term “<strong>College</strong> official” includes any person employed by the <strong>College</strong>, performing assigned administrative or<br />
professional responsibilities.<br />
4. The term “member of the <strong>College</strong> community” includes any person who is a student, faculty member, <strong>College</strong><br />
official or any other person employed by the <strong>College</strong>. A person’s status in a particular situation shall be determined<br />
by the Chief Academic Officer.<br />
5. The term “<strong>College</strong> premises” includes all land, buildings, facilities, and the property in the possession of or owned,<br />
rented, used or controlled by the <strong>College</strong> (including adjacent streets and sidewalks).<br />
6. The term “Student Conduct Administrator” means a <strong>College</strong> official authorized on a case by case basis by the<br />
Dean of Students to impose sanctions upon any student(s) found to have violated the Student Code.<br />
7. The Dean of Students is the person designated by the <strong>College</strong> President to be responsible for the administration<br />
of the Student Code.<br />
8. The term “policy” means the written regulations of the <strong>College</strong> as found in, but not limited to, the Student Code of<br />
Conduct, Housing Agreement, <strong>College</strong> web page and computer use policy, and the <strong>College</strong> Catalog.<br />
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
1. All students are responsible for knowing the information published in this Student Code of Conduct, the <strong>College</strong><br />
Catalog, and other official publications of the <strong>College</strong>. They are also responsible for any information delivered to<br />
them via <strong>College</strong> mail placed in their <strong>College</strong> mailbox or hand delivered, via postal mail addressed to the address<br />
that the student has registered with the Registrar’s office, and/or via e-mail sent to their <strong>Fisher</strong> e-mail account.<br />
2. All students are responsible for upholding <strong>College</strong> policies and regulations, and observing State and<br />
Federal Laws both on and off-campus.<br />
3. All students are responsible for behaving in a civil manner with members of the <strong>College</strong> and external community.<br />
