The housing office is open from 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday and is staffed with the Assistant Director of Housing<br />

and Residential Life as well as student staff. In the evening RAs and RDs are on duty from 4:00pm to 8:00am daily. If<br />

you need to contact a member of the Housing Staff, please see the Public Safety staff or call 617-236-8880.<br />

RIGHT <strong>OF</strong> ENTRY<br />

The <strong>College</strong> reserves the right of entry into a student’s assigned living space for inspection, improvement, repairs, or<br />

housekeeping during reasonable hours or at any time in the case of epidemic or other circumstances of any emergency<br />

nature posing a threat to life, limb, health, or property.<br />

ROOM INSPECTION<br />

The <strong>College</strong> reserves the right for its employees (Residential Life, Maintenance, Public Safety, etc.) to enter and inspect<br />

a residence room in the interests of the health, safety, and proper conduct of the residents, or the orderly and efficient<br />

administration and operation of the residential system, or to maintain or repair the premises. Entry may be made<br />

at any time, whether or not the resident is present, and without prior notice to the resident, if emergency, health, or<br />

safety circumstances warrant such entry or if there are reasonable grounds to believe that any substance, material or<br />

item is being kept or used on the premises in any manner prohibited by law or by the rules/regulations of the <strong>College</strong>.<br />

Residents who fail to comply with the safety, health, and maintenance standards may be subject to disciplinary action.<br />

ASSIGNMENT<br />

The <strong>College</strong> reserves the right to make all assignments and to make any assignment changes or transfers considered<br />

necessary. Assignments are made by date of application without discrimination. The Director of Residential Life makes<br />

room assignments for first-year students. If you wish to secure on-campus housing for the next academic year, you<br />

must complete and sign the <strong>Fisher</strong> <strong>College</strong> Housing Agreement and submit it along with a $500 non-refundable deposit.<br />

Housing Room Lottery takes place during the second semester. To participate in housing lottery a student must<br />

be registered for classes and have no holds on his/her student account. A room will not be officially reserved until the<br />

Housing Agreement has been returned to the Housing Office along with a non-refundable deposit of $500 (USD) by the<br />

date specified on the form. After securing a room during housing lottery students must have all damage charges paid<br />

by July 1st and their <strong>College</strong> account paid by August 1st or their room reservation will be cancelled. Students who are<br />

academically dismissed from the <strong>College</strong> will also have their room assignment cancelled and if they are readmitted at a<br />

later date will have to reapply for housing.<br />

The Housing Office reserves the right to assign, reassign, and fill a room to capacity. Students may not change rooms<br />

without prior authorization in writing from the Resident Director or the Director of Residential Life.<br />

REASSIGNMENT<br />

The <strong>College</strong> may reassign a resident to a different accommodation, to a temporary accommodation, or increase or<br />

decrease the number of residents assigned to any residence accommodation if the <strong>College</strong>, in its sole discretion,<br />

deems such reassignment necessary or advisable. Reassignment may occur as a sanction for a resident’s failure to<br />

comply with any rule/regulation, in the interests of health or safety, for the more prudent use of resources, or efficient<br />

administration of the residential system.<br />
