Compact drives with Ethernet
Bosch Rexroth Canada has announced a
power range from 50 W to 3.5 kW for the
compact IndraDrive Cs line of servo drive.
The drives support all standard Ethernetbased
communication interfaces such as
SERCOS III, PROFINET IO (RT), Ether-
Net/IP and EtherCat. The user configures
his choice of communication protocol
himself using software on universal communication
hardware. This reduces the
complexity and diversity of variants particularly
for machine manufacturers who
have to offer tailor-made customer solutions
with various Ethernet interfaces. The
multiple transducer interface of the drive is
said to work smoothly with transducer systems
such as EnDat, Hiperface, simple TTL
incremental transducers, sine-cosine transducers,
resolvers and the serial transducer
system of Rexroth’s MSM motors.

AC gearmotor torque boost
Managed ethernet switches
MEN Micro Inc. has extended its line of
managed Ethernet switches to include a
new 3U CompactPCI (CPCI) version. The
F302 features eight Fast Ethernet channels
on the front via RJ45, M12 or D-Sub
connectors, depending upon the applica-
tion, and an optional channel accessible
through the rear J1 connector for communication
within an embedded system.
A service interface at the front provides a
number of options to configure the Ethernet
channels individually via a hardware
key, a Telnet command line interface or
SNMP, without opening the system itself.
Units are designed for rugged, communication-intensive
applications as found in
transportation and other mobile environments.
