This package contains a tool to “discover” <strong>Barix</strong> devices within a local<br />

environment. It is implemented in Java, requiring Java Standard Edition 5 or<br />

later. As the application has a GUI, the X-Window system is required when<br />

running on Linux/FreeBSD and other *NIX systems.


1 Hardware Compatibility<br />

This Software is intended to run on all PC environments for which Java Edition 5 JRE or later is<br />

supported. For Edition 5 the support for the “start browser” feature is more specifically targeted at<br />

the following operating systems:<br />

• Mac OS X<br />

• GNU/Linux<br />

• Unix<br />

• Windows XP/Vista/7<br />

The following new features have been implemented in the <strong>Discovery</strong> <strong>Tool</strong>V0.17 (since version<br />

5 Major Modifications<br />

5.1 IPAM Module type<br />

New column “IPAM type” has been added. It displays the type of IP audio module present in the<br />

device. The following values are recognized:<br />

• legacy = IPAM 100, IPAM 200, IPAM 300, Barionet 50, Barionet 100, IPAM 101 or<br />

IPAM 102<br />
