Jeremy Marinis<br />
Director of Undergraduate Admissions<br />
A familiar face joined TU’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions<br />
this year. Jeremy Marinis (TU Class of 2002), served as a full-time<br />
assistant coach with the Dragon Football Team and in the Graduate<br />
Admissions department before beginning his new roll as Director of<br />
Undergraduate Admission in March.<br />
Marinis was thrilled to be given the opportunity to stay at TU to<br />
work in the Graduate Admissions Office after his internship with the<br />
football team ended. “I am very fortunate<br />
to work for people who believe in me,”<br />
he said.<br />
With his new position came many new<br />
and exciting responsibilities. A typical<br />
day for Marinis entails monitoring prospective<br />
student inquiries, developing<br />
working relationships with potential students<br />
and/or informing them of the status<br />
of their application, promoting TU in a positive manner, managing<br />
the recruiting team, overseeing student employees, and marketing<br />
the undergraduate program, to name just a few.<br />
Marinis doesn’t seem too troubled by his many new responsibilities<br />
at TU. “I enjoy working with people and giving young adults the<br />
opportunity to reach their goals and develop their career paths,”<br />
he said. “I have a hand in helping them make a better life for<br />
themselves.”<br />
He shared that he finds it difficult to deny a student admission to<br />
TU. On the flip side, Marinis feels that the most rewarding part of<br />
his job is seeing the excitement of new students as they enroll and<br />
begin their futures.<br />
According to Marinis, anyone who steps on <strong>Tiffin</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s<br />
campus can attest to feeling immediately welcomed. “To me, TU<br />
is a community of caring individuals striving to promote a learning<br />
environment,” he explained. “It’s a feeling of a close family.”<br />
Not only did Marinis get his bachelor’s degree and begin his<br />
professional career at TU, he also met his fiancé, Jamie Martin, who<br />
is Director of TU’s Fremont Academic Center. “She oversees the<br />
recruitment and advising of students enrolling in the program,” he<br />
explained.<br />
This fall, Jeremy began working toward a Ph.D. at the <strong>University</strong> of<br />
Toledo. “I really enjoy the collegiate setting, working with students<br />
and watching them reach their full potential,” he explained. “In the<br />
future, I would like to be able to teach classes and enjoy a healthy<br />
and happy family,” he concluded.<br />
Jill Earl<br />
Student Affairs Office Manager<br />
Friendly, kind, sincere, energetic, helpful, dedicated, and caring are<br />
all words that describe Jill Earl, Student Affairs Office Manager. This<br />
year, Earl also took on the title and responsibilities<br />
of Equestrian Club and<br />
Team Advisor.<br />
The Varsity Equestrian Team,<br />
comprised of 20 students, is in its first<br />
year of competition. Earl acts as the<br />
liaison between the school and the<br />
facility—where the team rides. She is<br />
also responsible for recruiting members<br />
and traveling with the team. “It has been a really awesome<br />
experience for me,” said Earl. “I have been able to develop the<br />
program from the ground up.”<br />
