Installing the Memory
Board Installation
Before attempting to install any memory, make sure that the memory you have is compatible with the
motherboard as well as the processor. The D2568 board supports up to eight 240-pin 1.8-Volt
DDR2-667 ECC FB-DIMM modules.
Here are a few key points to note before installing memory into your D2568:
● 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB ECC FB-DIMM memory modules are supported
● All installed memory will be automatically detected - no need to set any jumpers
● The D2568 supports up to 64 GB of memory
● Memory modules are organized in pairs. Both modules of a pair must be of same type and
density, otherwise the memory may not be detected correctly or system instability may be
caused.
● For debug mode, one FB-DIMM module can be used plugged into DIMM1 socket
Please refer to the following table memory configuration:
All DIMMS must be the same type and size DIMM. It is also recommended that you
use all DIMMS from the same manufacturer for improved reliability.
