Column 1: Class of Competitor: according to these Rules.<br />

Column 2: Course Length and Type of Competition: according to<br />

these Rules.<br />

Column 3: Start Types and Intervals: the method by which the start<br />

is made and the interval between the starts of two<br />

consecutive competitors.<br />

Column 4: Number of Ski Loops: course rounds to be skied by the<br />

competitor.<br />

Column 5: Shooting Bouts and Shot Penalties: the number of shooting<br />

bouts the competitor must do and the shooting<br />

position to be used in the bout (P = Prone, S = Standing), the<br />

number of rounds the competitor must fire in each bout, and<br />

the automatic shot-penalty -1 minute of added time or a 150 m<br />

penalty loop - imposed on a competitor for each target left<br />

standing after all rounds for the bout have been fired.<br />

Column 6: Distance Between and Location of Shooting Bouts: the<br />

minimum distance between successive shooting bouts in<br />

the competition and the ski distances after which shooting<br />

must occur.<br />

Column 7: Total Climb (tc): the total vertical ascent in the competition<br />

(the sum of all the ascents) for each competitor.<br />

1.3.9 Specifications for Super Sprint<br />

Super Sprint shall consist of a Qualification and<br />

a Final competition, which will take place on the same day.<br />

1.3.10 Modifications and Other Types of Competitions<br />

The <strong>IBU</strong> shall hold the right to modify existing competitions and to<br />

introduce new types of competitions into <strong>IBU</strong> events.<br />

1.3.11 Event Programs<br />

The schedule, sequence and types of <strong>IBU</strong> competitions for events shall<br />

be set by the <strong>IBU</strong> EB, on the recommendation of the TC.<br />

1.3.12 Annual Schedule of Events<br />

<strong>IBU</strong> events will be held annually as stated in the event rules or as<br />

directed by the EB. The yearly schedules will be published in the <strong>IBU</strong><br />

Biathlon Calendar. NFs are requested to provide their national major<br />

events and proposals for international competitions<br />

to the <strong>IBU</strong> Secretary General for publication in the <strong>IBU</strong> Biathlon<br />

Calendar not later than 30 July of each year.<br />
