Weber Entec focuses on the plant engineering of ultrasound-relevant applications in the field of environmental
technology, and in particular the ultrasonic treatment of biogenic substances on the basis of the sewage sludge
disintegration procedure developed by the Fraunhofer Institute in cooperation with Weber Ultrasonics. Thanks
to a broad range of services, manufacturing, plant engineering, sales as well as systems analysis and process
optimisation are provided from a single source.
Ultrasonic disintegration optimises
virtually all plant parameters. For
instance, the increase in biogas
production generates the same
energy yield even when feeding less
substrate. Fermentation durations are
shortened and the plant’s individual
energy requirements, for example for
circulation, are reduced. Even when
taking into account unchanging compensation
levels for energy fed into
the grid and increasing raw material
prices and after the deduction of
maintenance costs and depreciation
for the new ultrasonic unit, plant
operators still enjoy a significant
surplus.
The new systems are based on a
sewage sludge disintegration process
developed during many years of cooperation
with the Fraunhofer Institute.
The organic substances released by
the disintegration are more easily
accessible to micro-organisms,
thus facilitating both anaerobic and
aerobic breakdown. In addition, the
increased enzyme activity in various
milieu conditions also has a positive
effect. Weber Entec’s procedure
is superior to currently available
processes in many ways, impressing
with long maintenance intervals and a
high degree of operational reliability.
