<strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong> is a web-based hotel management software that supports all areas of<br />
work at the front office. <strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong> is constantly being developed further. After<br />
extensive trials, all newly developed functions and improvements will be<br />
integrated into a new <strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong> version, which we will provide in accordance to<br />
the Software-as-a-Service concept free of charge and on a regular basis.<br />
The new version June 2013 includes a series of new developments and features,<br />
which we’d like to present below.<br />

You’ve restarted <strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong> after the update, can’t see any changes though<br />
This may be due to certain settings of your browser. You may have to clear<br />
your cache and your browser history. Please find information on how to do this<br />
on the help pages of your browser.<br />

System Requirements<br />
Support of Flash 10 will soon be discontinued<br />
The Flash runtime environment allows working with <strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong> in the web<br />
browser. Due to the many improvements in the Flash Player 11 (e.g. native 64<br />
bit support) we will soon discontinue to support Flash version 10. The Adobe<br />
Flash player is a free Internet download. Google Chrome users will receive the<br />
Flash Player when installing the latest version of the Google browser.<br />

Allow only certain IP addresses to<br />
access <strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong>.<br />
NOTE<br />
IP-based access control<br />
Feel safe with <strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong>’s new IP-based access control. Restricting access to<br />
<strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong> by IP address allows you to grant or deny specific computers, groups of<br />
computers, or domains access to <strong>protel</strong> <strong>Air</strong>. For example, you can allow access<br />
only from computers in the hotel domain or only by specific computers based on<br />
their IP address.<br />
Ask your <strong>protel</strong> Cloud Support Team to set up your system accordingly!<br />

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!<br />
Booking.com – Special function to avoid overbookings<br />
You may have already recognized that under certain circumstances, a problem<br />
with overbookings appeared through booking.com. This happened when on<br />
booking.com a reservation has been cancelled before.<br />
In these cases the - so called – auto replenishment function sets the room<br />
available again, if you have at least one open rate for this category.<br />
Our development department implemented a function that offers the<br />
possibility to force the interface to close all rates for a category when the<br />
availability is “0”.<br />
This would have the effect that booking.com cannot raise the availability after<br />
a cancellation in combination with the auto replenishment function.<br />
Please note that once this functionality is activated, the auto replenishment<br />
functionality is suppressed so that cancelled rooms will not be available and<br />
cannot be resell automatically.<br />
Furthermore it is possible that booking.com will contact you concerning that.<br />
We therefore ask you to give us a written notice if we shall activate this<br />
function in order to prevent the mentioned overbooking in the future.<br />
