Visual Basic Application<br />
This handles all user interaction. It feeds user mouse movements, clicks etc. into the<br />
MapInfo component via the interface written in MapBasic. It displays and records any<br />
information entered on user input forms, created in Visual Basic, by reading and<br />
writing the data to the Access database.<br />
MapInfo Component<br />
This provides the GIS side of the system, handling the display and carrying out the<br />
manipulation of the underlying MapInfo maps and air photos.<br />
MapBasic Interface<br />
This is an interface written in MapInfo’s MapBasic that sits between and handles<br />
interaction between the Visual Basic Application and the MapInfo Component. The<br />
interface is also responsible for the digitizing of polygons and reading/writing this<br />
information to the underlying MapInfo table in which they are stored.<br />
Access Database<br />
This stores the information about each of the digitized polygons that has been entered<br />
by the user. The database also stores additional information on the required time<br />
periods, types, subtypes, street information and user defined characteristics.<br />
