• Lupus Foundation of America – Gina M Finzi Memorial Student Summer<br />

Fellowship Program<br />

o The purpose of this award is to foster an interest, among students,<br />

in the areas of basic, clinical, translational, epidemiological, or<br />

behavioral research relevant to lupus under the sponsorship and<br />

supervision of an established, tenure-track Principal Investigator<br />

who directs a laboratory dedicated at least in part to the<br />

investigation of lupus at a US academic, medical, or research<br />

institution. Student stipend is $2,000 <strong>for</strong> the summer.<br />

• <strong>Medical</strong> Student Health Services and Policy <strong>Research</strong> Summer <strong>Research</strong><br />

Fellowship<br />

o The Penn Masters of Science in Health Policy <strong>Research</strong> Policy<br />

<strong>Research</strong> in collaboration with the Leonard Davis Institute, the<br />

Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program and the Penn<br />

Division of General Internal Medicine supports research fellowship<br />

<strong>for</strong> medical students interested in working on a health services or<br />

health policy research project during the summer between their first<br />

and second years of medical school. The primary intent of the<br />

fellowship is to support medical students to work on campus under<br />

the sponsorship of a Penn faculty mentor with expertise in health<br />

services and policy research. One to three awards are given in the<br />

<strong>for</strong>m of $1,500 monthly stipend <strong>for</strong> up to 2 months.<br />

and Mental Health (M-STREAM) Summer <strong>Research</strong> Training<br />

o The M-STREAM Program is designed to give medical students an<br />

opportunity to explore an interest in the field of geriatric mental<br />

health through a variety of research opportunities throughout their<br />

medical school careers. M-STREAM gives students the opportunity<br />

to foster a relationship with a mentor in the field that will serve as a<br />

role model throughout their medical career. Up to 20 medical
