Distributor Sight Check Guidelines<br />
Fan Clutches (Horton Type)<br />
When accepting a fan clutch assembly – Look for:<br />
1. Damaged pulley grooves caused by<br />
rough handling<br />
2. Seized bearings, this indicates a<br />
damaged shaft<br />
3. Damage by non-operational causes such<br />
as fire, rust or rough handling<br />
Note: Pulley should be protected in core<br />
packaging to avoid damage.<br />
Applicable Credit:<br />
a. If none of the above conditions exist,<br />
full credit is applicable.<br />
b. If one of the above conditions exist,<br />
fifty percent (50%) credit is applicable.<br />
c. If two or more of the above conditions<br />
exist, no credit is applicable.<br />
Fan Clutches (Borg Warner/Kysor Type)<br />
When accepting a fan clutch assembly – Look for:<br />
Seized bearings, this indicates a<br />
damaged shaft<br />
Damage by non-operational causes such<br />
as fire, rust or rough handling<br />
Applicable Credit:<br />
a. If none of the above conditions exist,<br />
full credit is applicable.<br />
b. If one of the above conditions exist,<br />
fifty percent (50%) credit is applicable.<br />
c. If two of the above conditions<br />
exist, no credit is applicable.<br />
Be sure the fan clutch is in an active core group<br />
within the Midland Remanufactured Program.<br />
