General terms <strong>of</strong> Sale<br />

4. Interested parties are <strong>in</strong>vited to make a bid to purchase “lot/s” <strong>of</strong> items, which are sold on<br />

an “AS IS, WHERE IS” basis without recourse or warranties <strong>of</strong> any k<strong>in</strong>d. The successful bidder<br />

is responsible for payment <strong>of</strong> taxes or fees to the <strong>Timor</strong>-<strong>Leste</strong> Government due as a result <strong>of</strong> this<br />

<strong>sale</strong> before items may be collected. Bids must be submitted on the provided and approved forms<br />

<strong>in</strong> order to be considered (these can be obta<strong>in</strong>ed on the day <strong>of</strong> the site visit). All <strong>in</strong>terested<br />

bidders must make a deposit <strong>of</strong> 10%. In the event the w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder does not want the goods,<br />

the deposit will be forfeited. K<strong>in</strong>dly <strong>in</strong>clude the deposit slip with your bid. Deposits from<br />

unsuccessful bidders will be promptly refunded. W<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidders will be notified by 15 th May<br />

and thereafter have one week to make necessary payments to -<strong>UNDP</strong> and the <strong>Timor</strong>-<strong>Leste</strong><br />

government and remove the materials from the UN Agency Compound premises.<br />

W<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidders must remove their entire lot (s) with<strong>in</strong> the time provided. It is the<br />

responsibility <strong>of</strong> the w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder to remove from site their lot (s) with their own<br />

resources (vehicles) and personnel.<br />

It is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder to dismantle and remove from site the<br />

prefabricated structures and their associated fixtures and items. The concrete<br />

foundations <strong>in</strong> place shall stay. All work is to be accomplished employ<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder’s resources and personnel. Before dismantl<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> the build<strong>in</strong>gs the<br />

w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder must ensure that the workplace is safe and without risks to health. A<br />

temporary rail<strong>in</strong>g must be provided around the build<strong>in</strong>g site with necessary safety<br />

signs. Any debris and rubbish must be removed from the site immediately. The<br />

w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder’s staff will have access to the compound for the sole purpose <strong>of</strong><br />

remov<strong>in</strong>g these structures. Names <strong>of</strong> these employees must be provided to <strong>UNDP</strong><br />

security at the time the job commences. The w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder is responsible for the<br />

conduct, compensation and safety <strong>of</strong> his/her employees. A maximum <strong>of</strong> seven days<br />

is provided to the w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g bidder to remove the awarded lots. Work must commence<br />

on the Saturday <strong>in</strong>dicated.<br />
