Garrard from his father Francis Thomas Garrard dated March 1904: My dear Frank, Reverting to the 'Lambourn Church' I sent you, I notice that the Pedigree therein mentioned only goes as far, as our branch is concerned, to Barbara Willoughby, married to Thomas Garrard of Upper Lambourn who had a son Nicholas and 15 other children. I have therefore drawn out and enclose a memo carrying on our branch to the present time. My Great Great Grandfather with his 15 brothers and sisters must have swallowed up whatever fortune their father had to leave, resulting in my Great Grandfather migrating to Reading. Our branch through Barbara Willoughby are descended from Edward III, and now you will have a fairly correct idea of your forebears. 'Lambourn Church' refers to "History of Lambourn Church" by John Footman, published in 1894. F T Garrard's additions to the pedigree have also been lost. I also have an old illustration of the Garrard coat of arms including a sketch of Lambourn Parsonage. There are hand written notes on the back explaining the heraldry, but I can't identify the writing.
