Originally preferred football (soccer) but at age 16 was finally persuaded to take up running.
With 8:05.75 in '07 erased the Olympic Gold winning and World Record time of 8:08.02 set by Anders Gärderud 31 years
(to the day!) earlier from the list of Swedish national records - and missed the European record by a mere 0.80. Confirmed
new level with 8:07.83 ten days later.
Since '04 has been in six straight Steeplechase finals: Two OG's, three WCh's and one ECh. In '07 WCh just missed the podium.
On the podium for three straight European Cross Country Championships '06-'08.
