Scholarship
Presented by the Coal City Parent School Organization
The Coal City Parent School Organization is a collaboration of parents, teachers and staff
of Coal City Unit District #1. As a group, we value education and strive to see our students
succeed in their studies. The PSO funds this scholarship through fundraising activities
throughout the year. The recipient will be named at the Scholarship Awards Night on May 14 th ,
2013. The recipient will also be invited to attend the May PSO meeting and read their winning
essay.
To be considered for the June Boyd Scholarship, applicants must:
Be eligible to graduate from CCHS in the current academic year.
Have previously graduated from CCHS.
Be accepted into a college or university for the consecutive academic year.
Complete, sign, and include the attached application, essay, and teacher
recommendation.
Considered applications will be scored and weighted as follows:
Essay (60%)
Academics (10%)
Activities/Service (10%)
Teacher Recommendation (10%)
Personal Accomplishment Statement (10%)
All applications are judged by a committee chosen by the PSO.
The decisions of the committee are final.

the CCHS Scholarship Awards Night event. Applications must be received by April 12, 2013 at
the Early Childhood Center, 755 S. Carbon Hill Rd., Coal City, IL 60416 or dropped off at CCHS.
