FUNCTIONING
nderstanding your options
UThe McLean On Track Program specializes in the
early recognition and treatment of bipolar spectrum
disorders and other conditions presenting with
psychosis for adults ages 18 to 30.
Experiencing symptoms of a psychotic disorder for the first time
can be difficult and confusing for individuals and their families. Our
multidisciplinary team specializes in diagnosing the problem and
providing necessary treatment.
We work to prevent further psychotic episodes, restore a person’s
functioning, and help individuals and families regain their sense of
control. In addition, we help reduce the stigma that is often associated
with mental illness.
Our staff builds trusting and collaborative relationships with patients
and family members in a caring and supportive environment. Program
services include:
• Individual therapy
• Patient and family support groups
• Collaborative family and clinical team meetings
• Support from our volunteer family advisor
• Case management and consultation with schools,
healthcare providers, and community-based services
• Medication management
• Nutritional counseling
• Consultations with other specialists as needed
“On Track helps me feel
It doesn’t hurt to ask
Speaking with a trained professional about diagnosis and treatment is a critical
first step toward understanding the problem and addressing it. Dr. Thomas Insel,
Director, National Institute of Mental Health, states that the sooner the discussion
starts the better the short- and long-term outcomes are for the person.
