CHECK-IN TO TRANSITION 1 & 2
There are 2 separate Transitions in 2 separate areas
for Transition 1 & Transition 2.
Suggested sequence for check-in on race morning is:
1. Running equipment to Transition 2 at the Green Point
Athletics Stadium
2. Cycle down to Transition 1 at V&A Waterfront
3. Bike check-in at Transition 1
4. Bag Drop off between Transition 1 and the Swim start
Check-in to Transition 1 & Transition 2 is only possible
on race day.
Entry in and exit out of Transition will be controlled by wristband
and race number so please keep them ready for inspection.
Check-in times for the various start waves will be communicated
closer to race day on our website capetown.triathlon.org.
TRANSITION 2: RUNNING EQUIPMENT CHECK-IN
Transition 2 is situated at the Green Point Athletics Stadium.
TRANSITION 1: BIKE CHECK-IN
Transition 1 is situated in the V&A Waterfront precinct.
• Please make sure your helmet, bike and transition bag are
clearly marked with the stickers provided.
• Wear your bike helmet, fastened on your head, when you come
into check-in. Please also bring with any equipment you need
for cycling in your transition bag.
• A safety check will be carried out on your bike and helmet.
Don’t forget to have your bike in good working order.
Remember if your bike isn’t fit to race then you won’t be allowed
to start - safety first! Bikes not in proper working condition
will not be allowed into Transition.
• Bikes must be racked personally. Each racking area will be
marked according to your start wave.
• Please take time to familiarise yourself with your surroundings
and your position in relation to the rest of Transition.
This will speed up your transition process when you are in
race mode!
• Your race equipment needs to be carefully stored next to your
bike in the space provided. No equipment is allowed in the
aisles. This applies before as well as during the competition.
Personal belongings other than your race equipment are not
allowed in Transition and these should be left in your race bag
at the Bag Drop Off zone en route to the swim start.
• Check in your running shoes and any other running equipment
at your allocated rack in Transition 2.
• Please take time to familiarise yourself with your surroundings
and your position in relation to the rest of Transition. This will
speed up your transition process when you are in race mode!
