11 | BEFORE THE COMPETITION
Wetsuits must be worn if water temperature is below 14 degrees and wetsuits
are forbidden if water temperature is above 22 degrees. Normally the water
temperature is well below 14 degrees at this time of the year.
Besides keeping you warm during the swim, wetsuits also assist with buoyancy
and help you swim faster. However, you do not need to purchase one, as wetsuits
will be available for rent for this event. Visit capetown.triathlon.org for more
information.
Please note: to avoid mix-ups in Transition, we recommend you put your name in
your wetsuit!
Your timing chip needs to be placed under your wetsuit on your left leg.
This is to make sure that when your remove your wetsuit the timing chip doesn’t
come off at the same time.
