TRANSITION 1
IMPORTANT
IMPORTANT
• Change at your rack.
• Put your wetsuit next to your bike, in the transition bag
provided. Do not put the wetsuit on the bike rack!
• All wetsuits look alike, so to avoid mix-ups, write your name
inside your wetsuit. The organisers assume no liability for lost
objects not placed inside the transition bag.
• You must secure your helmet strap before removing your bike
from the rack.
• Make sure that you are still wearing your timing chip on your
left ankle for the bike section. If your timing chip has come off
in the swim please report this to the officials at the entrance
to transition.
• Make sure that you are wearing your race number which must
be worn on your back whilst cycling.
IMPORTANT
IMPORTANT
• The bike loops incorporate Beach Road, Fritz Sonnenberg
and Granger Bay Boulevard.
• Athletes are instructed to ride on the left and overtake
on the right hand side of the cycle route. As this is a draft
legal cycle, be aware that several riders may be passing you
at a time.
• You are responsible for counting the number of laps completed.
Athletes will be disqualified for not completing the required
number of laps. This will be verified by a timing mat on the
course, after the race.
• Once the final lap (Sprint 2 laps and Olympic 4 laps) has been
completed, athletes will head towards the Transition 2
at the Green Point Athletics Stadium, where they will be
instructed to dismount.
• Drafting is permitted:
• No cycling is allowed in Transition. You need to push your bicycle
through Transition until you are over the MOUNT line.
Here you may mount and start cycling.
