D.4 Patrol Procedures:<br />

D.4.1 All anchored or moored patrol vessels must be able <strong>to</strong> sortie within 30 minutes<br />

of notification and will maintain a continuous radio guard with <strong>the</strong>ir controlling<br />

radio station. Channel 16 VHF-FM should also be moni<strong>to</strong>red if possible.<br />

SECTOR may vary patrol times as needed or as boating activity dictates.<br />

D.4.2 All <strong>Auxiliary</strong> Patrol Vessels while underway shall know <strong>the</strong>ir position at all<br />

times. A recommended procedure is <strong>to</strong> record all fixes in a log or bearing<br />

book while on patrol. Ano<strong>the</strong>r recommended procedure is <strong>to</strong> prepare a chart<br />

with <strong>the</strong> magnetic courses, and track lines from <strong>the</strong> vessel's homeport <strong>to</strong> major<br />

aids <strong>to</strong> navigation, o<strong>the</strong>r ports, etc. for easy reference.<br />
