Lastly, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) assists <strong>the</strong> President in<br />

<strong>the</strong> supervision of <strong>the</strong> LGUs, promotion of local autonomy, and <strong>the</strong> implementation of <strong>the</strong><br />

Local Government Code. It provides assistance towards legislation, law enforcement and<br />

public safety and through its attached agencies, mainly <strong>the</strong> Local Government Academy,<br />

and provides human resources training to enhance all aspects of local governance.<br />
