Full listings of demo discs, Lightspan edutainment titles and boxsets break down the “not quite” games which you’ll need to complete your collection. A listing of every Playstation game by publisher and genre allows subcollectors to know when they’ve achieved a full set of Capcom releases, fishing games or first person shooters. A complete sequential listing of US releases by part number, beginning SCUS for first-party games and SLUS for third-party titles, allows collectors to track the evolution of the system from beginning (Air Combat SLUS-00001) to end (FIFA Soccer 2005 SLUS-01585). It’s not all hard data, however. Crash Bandicoot creator Jason Rubin, former Next Generation Editor Chris Charla and former Sony executive Bill Rehbock provide their qualified insight into the Playstation era in exclusive interviews. For importers, an introduction to rare and expensive foreign releases is available. Playstation controllers are more than just the trusty old Dual Shock, so we’ve also taken a look at peripherals of note.
