Dear Friend of the Community Foundation:
These pages document a record of service to the Pioneer Valley
that is unique. No other charitable organization has such a broadly
varied impact throughout the region—on its arts and culture, its
environmental and historical assets, and its educational, health,
and human services.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be the stewards of the funds
that make this possible. Two aspects of the stewardship of those
funds are most important to us.
• Their perpetual dedication to the cause—investing them
with uncommon skill, not just to generate maximum annual
distributions, but to preserve them in perpetuity.
• Their most effective deployment—developing and applying
the expertise that provides the most benefit for every
dollar granted.
The statistics demonstrate the region’s continuing confidence in
our ability to provide that stewardship. More important, however,
they are also a measure of the heart of the region, its collective
ability to care for itself.
We extend our warmest thanks for this generosity, and look
forward to continuing to put it to work for another year.
