Why have you chosen to run for a position in Marian High School’s student government?
I have chosen to run for a position in Marian High School’s government because I enjoy being a
Class Officer. Since I was one during Freshman year, and I had a very rewarding experience, I
would just love to do it again. I learned many lessons and I can not wait to continue to share
them in the many years to come.
What is your personal definition of a leader?
I believe that leaders are people who choose to speak out and stand for what is right. They also
must set a good example to everyone around them and can not be afraid to be different. Leaders
are who people look up to and depend on when looking for the right way to do things.
What special skills or talents will you bring to student government? How will these traits
enrich the environment of Marian High School?
I would bring lots of special things to the student government. For example, I have excellent
communication skills, I am reliable, I am ambitious and have a good attitude. These skills would
enrich the environment at Marian because if we had a good student body who possessed all of
those traits, there would be many excellent changes and lots of good examples for people to look
up to. I think it is important to posses all of these traits because Marian girls like to have fun and
I will give them that.
What innovative ideas or goals do you have for Marian High School? What plan of action
would you take to see your goal achieved?
One of the goals I have is to unify our class. I think we should have more bonding events for our
individual class because in order to be able to communicate well and work together, we need to
all connect and be ourselves when with each other. To set my goal in action, I would just bring it
up at a class meeting and see if people would want to participate! If they would want to
participate, we could organize a class movie night or something fun like that.

What activities have you been involved in at Marian that will assist you in being a strong
and able leader in student government?
When I first came to Marian, I just wanted to make sure that I was involved and had fun. So, I
joined many clubs like Spirit Club, Baking Club, Polar Plunge, the Cross Country team, and I
was also elected as our class representative for Latin Club. These clubs all taught me how to
work together as a team, how to give back to those in need and how to step up and be a leader for
your classmates. I was a retreat leader for a courage retreat at Mary Our Queen which also
helped me become a better leader because I was the teacher for those children and I had to be the
best example I could be. By attending three leadership training workshops, I learned organization
skills and many tips on how to be a leader. The most rewarding thing that I have done at Marian
however, has been being a Class Officer. I learned so many things that have helped me become a
better leader and example at home and in our community. By being in charge of a field day
committee, I really got an understanding of how challenging yet rewarding it is to be in charge of
something so important. It has been such a fun experience and I would love to do it all again.
