When he talks about Kane Hodder, he’s not talking about the late, lamented Bremertonrockbandwhocommandeeredthe name; he’s talking about the real deal. “Kane Hodder has choked me several times,” Drane said matter-of-factly during a recent phone conversation from Los Angeles,whereheworksasascreenwriter.“He likestochokepeople,Ifoundout.” Drane, a 1981 Bremerton High School graduate,foundoutthatlittle-knownbut not-very-surprising fact about Hodder — the hulking actor who turned himself into horror-show institution by playing hockeymasked Jason Voorhies in the “Friday the 13th”franchise—whenHodderworked on Drane’s five-episode Internet series “Fear Clinic.” The 2009 series, which also boastedtheparticipationofRobert“Freddy Kreuger” Englund, was, according to Drane, “outtedbyFearNet(thecableoutletthat originally aired it) as the most-watched Internet horror series.” Just like Freddy (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) and Jason, who resurfaced for CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS BremertonnativeAaronDranewroteandproduced“FearClinic,”whichwasscreenedatlastfall’s ScreamFest genre film festival in Los Angeles and will be available for purchase beginning Feb. 10. DRANE from 2 A feature-film reboot, written and produced by Drane and starring Englund, goes on sale Feb. 10 at Best Buy, WalMart and Target stores, which could be just the beginning of itssecondlife,whatwith thepotentialforInternet streaming and pay-perview. “My producing partner (MarkB.Johnson)andI got back with the director (Robert Green Hall, whoshareswritingcredit on the feature), and we re-imagined the entire thing in feature form,” said Drane, who headed for Washington State University following his BHSgraduation,thendid astintintheNavyaboard the USS Enterprise before landingattheUCLAfilm school to do graduate studies.“Wewantedtomakeit stand alone. If anything we wanted the Web series to be like a prequel.” “Fear Clinic” is the continuingsagaofDr.Andover (Englund), who has created the “fear chamber” to help patients rid themselves of trauma-induced phobias bymakingthemdealwith their deepest fears. The cast also includes Thomas Dekker (TV’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” the 2010 remake of “Nightmare on Elm Street” and the current Rainn Wilson series “Backstrom”), FeonaDourif(thedaughterofBradDourif,thetitlevoiceofthe“Chucky” franchise) and Cory Taylor(thefrontmanofthe shock-rock band Slipknot, making his film debut). “It’s a great cast,” he said. “We were so lucky to getCory.Andwhatdoyou say about Robert Englund?
