What a tyre-shredding and rubber-burning Year 2010 for SPARK
Motorsports! After ending the year on a good note as its sponsored
driver, Ryuji Miki won third place in the final round of the Formula
Drift Asia series at Dataran Merdeka on 18 to 19 December, SPARK
Motorsports is all set up to build its power drift machine, an off-road
Nissan Silvia S15.
This is in accordance to its effort in showcasing its technical
prowess. SPARK Motorsports is passionate and determined to build
this power drift machine completely from scratch. Updates on this
modification will be placed on SPARK Motorsports website weekly.

O’YOUNG’S RACING
PROGRAM FOR 2011
Darryl O’Young has announced that he will be fighting for two motorsport
championships this season - the FIA World Touring Car Championship 2011 (WTCC)
with 22 rounds around the world, and also the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia 2011
(PCCA) with 11 rounds in Asia. The 2010 WTCC rookie and Bamboo Engineering
have spent one season together and all the personnel have remained intact for
2011 including team mate Yukinori Taniguchi.
There will be no clashes in schedules between the WTCC and the PCCA and O’Young
is pleased to be able to fight for both championships in 2011. The 2-time PCCA
champion emphasizes that “competing in Asia and staying close to my race fans in
Hong Kong and China is important” to him and he “aims at nothing less than a 3rd
PCCA championship title”.
K4GP 24-HOURS
ENDURANCE RACE
Organised and promoted by Japan-based K4GP as
an event to promote enjoyment in motorsports
without any barriers and allowing the participation
of handicapped people, the 24-hour endurance race
– the third edition to be held in Sepang - saw Japan’s
home team, Team Biba, taking the overall honours
after it completed 458 laps around the 5.543-km
Formula 1 circuit.
Competing in his first car race in 16 years, wheelchair
bound Adi Haslam who partnered a fellow
handicap and former TV host Ras Adiba Radzi, led
his Adi Haslam Motorsports team to win his class
at Sepang’s K4GP 24-Hours Endurance; sending a
message that handicapped people can participate
and enjoy motor racing as well.
A total 45 cars including seven Malaysian entries took
part with all cars finishing the 24-hour race challenge.

AMERICAN DRIVER
BRIAN WONG
Team Absolute racing is proud to announce the signing of
Chinese-American driver Brian Wong for the Porsche Carrera
Cup Asia 2011. At 17, Wong was the youngest to receive his
Porsche racing license and progress again up the competition
ladder. His racing ability was recognized in 2010 by Porsche
Motorsports Motorsports with an invitation, as one of 12
young race drivers in the world, to Germany
and Italy for a driver assessment. In
2010 Wong raced in the prestigious
and competitive American Le Mans
Series, the IMSA Challenge Series, Series,
the Porsche SuperCup series in
Europe (companion race to the the F1
races) and the NASCAR West. For
2011 Wong has also confirmed
entries for 2 others series -
the American Le Mans Series
and NASCAR.
