QUALITY – SIGNED AND SEALED QUALITÄT MIT BRIEF UND SIEGEL schott became the fi rst manufacturer of fi re viewing panels to be presented with the tüv proficert seal which was awarded for the production and product testing process used for robax® glass-ceramic. Als erster Hersteller von Kaminsichtscheiben erhielt schott das tüv proficert Siegel für den Produktions- und Produktprüfprozess seiner robax® Glaskeramik. THILO HORVATITSCH S afety and reliability are extremely important when viewing a fire in the fireplace through protective viewing panels and are equally important in their manufacture. As a company that observes the highest standards for quality, schott sets out to substantiate this. For example, the robax® glass-ceramic brand is highly respected in the industry, and schott arranges for independent testing to be performed on a regular basis in accordance with the iso standards 9001, 14001 and 50001. schott even went a step further and subjected robax® glass-ceramic windows to yet another rigid certification process in 2014. To further strengthen the brand, the company had its high quality certified by an independent and globally recognized testing institute. In February of 2014, initial preliminary negotiations were held with the tüv (Technical Inspection Association) Hessen, an organization that performs technical tests internationally. A two-day test of the production and product testing processes followed in June. tüv inspected a precisely defined product line and the entire process chain starting with the delivery of the melting ingredients all the way to the final product ready for delivery. Here, they focused on questions such as: How does schott make certain that the right ingredients are actually used in the manufacturing process? How is traceability of the process ensured? Not at all easy questions considering the high complexity of products under the robax® brand including hundreds of different shapes of fire viewing windows. Following this intensive audit, schott became the first manufacturer of fireplace viewing panels to receive the tüv proficert seal certification certificate for its robax® glass-ceramic in July 2014. In order to visibly communicate this, the tüv logo will be used as a seal of quality when presenting schott robax® to the public. “We hope consumers will then be able to recognize schott quality and reliability even more easily in the future,” concludes Christina- Sofie Riegermann, Product Manager for schott robax®. < christinasofie.riegermann@schott.com S icherheit und Zuverlässigkeit haben eine hohe Priorität beim Blick ins Kaminfeuer durch schützende Sichtscheiben – also auch bei deren Herstellung. Wer hier höchste Qualitätsansprüche vertritt, der will dies beweisen. schott robax®, branchenbekannte Marke für Feuersichtscheiben aus Glaskeramik, lässt zum Beispiel regelmäßige, neutrale Prüfungen nach den iso-Normen 9001, 14001 und 50001 durchführen. 2014 unterzog man sich nun einer weiteren aufwendigen Zertifizierung: Zur Stärkung der Marke sollte die hohe Qualität von einem unabhängigen und weltweit anerkannten Prüfinstitut bescheinigt werden. Bereits im Februar 2014 begannen daher erste Vorgespräche mit dem tüv (Technischer Überwachungsverein) Hessen, der auch international technische Überwachungen durchführt. Anschließend folgte im Juni eine zweitägige Prüfung der Produktions- und Produktprüfprozesse. Unter die Lupe genommen wurden ein genau definiertes Produktsortiment sowie die gesamte Prozesskette von der Anlieferung der Schmelzkomponenten bis zum auslieferbaren Endprodukt. Dabei ging es um Fragen wie: Auf welche Weise stellt schott sicher, dass tatsächlich die richtigen Bestandteile in den Fertigungsprozess fließen? Wie wird die Rückverfolgbarkeit von Abläufen gewährleistet? Keine einfachen Aufgaben angesichts der hohen Komplexität: Unter der Marke robax® werden Feuersichtscheiben mit Hunderten verschiedener Geometrien angeboten – ein extrem großes Produktspektrum. Nach diesem intensiven Audit erhielt schott als erster Hersteller von Kaminsichtscheiben im Juli 2014 die Zertifizierungsurkunde des tüv proficert Siegels für seine robax® Glaskeramik. Um das auch sichtbar darzustellen, soll das tüv-Logo als Qualitäts- und Gütesiegel künftig in die Außendarstellung von schott robax® eingebunden werden. „Wir versprechen uns davon, dass die Endverbraucher unsere Qualität und Zuverlässigkeit nun noch leichter erkennen können“, resümiert Christina-Sofie Riegermann, Produktmanagement schott robax®. < christinasofie.riegermann@schott.com 47
