The project was carried out under the Seventh Framework Programme <strong>for</strong> Research and<br />

Technological Development, also benefit<strong>in</strong>g from a grant from the Italian M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>for</strong> the<br />

Economy and F<strong>in</strong>ance. The activities were implemented by a consortium of eleven partners:<br />

– Centre <strong>for</strong> Study and Research “Women and <strong>Gender</strong> Differences”, University of Milan<br />

(Italy);<br />

– Center <strong>for</strong> <strong>Gender</strong> <strong>in</strong> Organizations, Simmons College School of Management (United<br />

The guidel<strong>in</strong>es are firstly target<strong>in</strong>g scientific leaderships and management as well as<br />

women’s networks and associations with<strong>in</strong> public and private universities and research <strong>in</strong>stitutions,<br />

<strong>in</strong> order to provide them with ideas and suggestions to start or enhance gender-equality<br />

<strong>in</strong>itiatives <strong>in</strong> their organisations. At a more general level, the guidel<strong>in</strong>es are also target<strong>in</strong>g<br />

public, private and non-profit <strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> research policy; public, private and nonprofit<br />

<strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> equal opportunity policies; civil society organisations; bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

associations and trade unions; national and European scientific societies and networks; the<br />

media.<br />
