Kairos Retreat<br />
Benefited Students<br />
In early March, 30 juniors and seniors<br />
made a four-day retreat known as<br />
Kairos. They were led on the retreat<br />
by a group of six senior peer-leaders<br />
and nine faculty adult-leaders. The retreat<br />
covered themes including “Who<br />
am I?,” “Who is Jesus in my life?,”<br />
“What is Jesus’ message for me?,”<br />
and “How do I choose to respond to<br />
this message?”<br />
PA Tradition Continues<br />
The junior class performed their version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory<br />
for P.A. (Prom Announcement) on January 18. During the performance, they<br />
revealed the theme Pure Imagination and that prom would be on April 28 at<br />
the Field Club.<br />
Lenten Prayer Service<br />
Students join in prayer service offered<br />
Wednesday mornings before school<br />
during Lent. Each meeting has a<br />
different topic, such as praying with<br />
the Saints and Station Meditations.<br />
Artists Recognized<br />
for Their Work<br />
<strong>Mercy</strong> artists were recognized in<br />
the Nebraska State Scholastic Art<br />
Competition. Abby Berg received an<br />
Honorable Mention for her fused<br />
glass earrings and pendant. Gabbie<br />
Sylvester received an Honorable<br />
Mention for her fused glass slumped<br />
bowl and Sam White earned a Silver<br />
Key for her charcoal self portrait.<br />

Catholic <strong>School</strong>s Week Celebrates Faith,<br />
Academics, and Service<br />
During Catholic <strong>School</strong>s<br />
Week, celebrated the week<br />
of January 31-Febraury<br />
3, the girls were involved<br />
in many activities which<br />
included a faculty-led<br />
prayer service, studentled<br />
educator of impact,<br />
where the students wrote<br />
personal letters to teachers<br />
who have influenced<br />
them through the years,<br />
faculty-led pancake feed<br />
to the student body, and<br />
morning at the movies.<br />
The events brought about<br />
a celebration of a Catholic<br />
education at <strong>Mercy</strong> <strong>High</strong><br />
<strong>School</strong>.<br />
