Steroids and Steroid-Enhancers<br />
These agents have been linked to liver toxicity, testicular shrinkage,<br />
breast enlargement in males, adverse effects on lipid levels and increased<br />
risk of heart attack and stroke.<br />
Andro and Andro precursors<br />
• Banned for use by military personnel!<br />
• Listed as Schedule III controlled substances (cocaine and heroin are<br />
also on this list).<br />
Hemp Oil<br />
From the seed of the hemp plant.<br />
• Widely used in body care products, lubricants, paints and industrial uses.<br />
• Hemp oil is deliberately manufactured to contain no significant<br />
amounts of THC and is therefore not a psychoactive drug.<br />
• Banned for use by Air Force personnel.<br />
• Pop positive for marijuana on drug urinalysis.<br />
Ephedra (Ephedra sinica)<br />
• Ephedra is a naturally occurring substance derived from botanicals.<br />
The principal active ingredient is ephedrine, an amphetamine-like<br />
compound that stimulates the nervous system and heart.<br />
• Also known as ma huang, Chinese Ephedra, Ephedrine, Ephedrine Alkaloid,<br />
Herbal Ecstasy, Sea Grape, Teamster’s Tea, Yellow Astringent,<br />
Yellow Horse.<br />
• Ephedra is illegal: On August 17, 2006 the U.S. Court of Appeals for<br />
the Tenth Circuit in Denver upheld the FDA final rule declaring all
