Principal<br />
Renee has over 27 years of experience in the<br />
field of health and productivity management.<br />
She has her Master’s in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling<br />
from Michigan State University. Renee has worked in the<br />
insurance industry, managing departments in both workers<br />
compensation and disability. In addition, she owned a<br />
consulting firm assisting corporations with the development<br />
and implementation of absence management programs.<br />
Renee has also served as the Manager of Integrated<br />
Disability Management Programs for a major Midwest-based<br />
pharmaceutical and manufacturing company. She has been<br />
in the consulting industry for over 15 years with extensive<br />
experience in the healthcare, manufacturing, gaming, and<br />
financial and service industries. As a VP for Laurus Strategies<br />
(A HUB International Company), Renee assists our clients<br />
address health and productivity issues within their operation<br />
related to vendor management and coordination, review and<br />
enhancement of internal process and procedure to enhance<br />
productivity. Her command of this discipline has gained her<br />
access to our largest and most complex clients (including<br />
HSBC Bank, Reyes Holdings, DeVry, ProHealth Care and<br />
Hospira). She has published several articles on the topic of<br />
absence management and health and productivity.<br />
Kathy McAlpine<br />
Kraft Foods<br />
Senior Director, Benefits<br />
Kathy is the Senior Director of Benefits for<br />
the Kraft Foods Group. She has over 25 years<br />
of experience working in the human resources and employee<br />
benefits field. Kraft Foods Group has 24,000 employees<br />
operating in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico and will be the<br />
largest food and beverage company headquartered in North<br />
America. Kathy is responsible for all health and welfare,<br />
retirement and savings plans at Kraft. Previously Kathy had<br />
responsibility for Kraft Foods U.S. benefits, global employee<br />
health and wellness as well as benefits communication and<br />
training. Prior to joining Kraft Foods, Kathy was the Director of<br />
Compensation & Benefits for The NutraSweet Company and<br />
held benefits management and human resources positions<br />
with Bally Manufacturing and Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.<br />
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University<br />
and her master’s degree from Northern Illinois University.<br />
Patti McCarver, APRN<br />

Director,Vanderbilt Health at MNPS Health<br />
Care Centers<br />
Patti McCarver graduated with her Diploma<br />
in Nursing in 1974 from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of<br />
Nursing. She continued her education by obtaining her Bachelor<br />
of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama<br />
and her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Mobile.<br />
She earned her Doctorate in Nursing Science from Vanderbilt<br />
University. Patti has worked as an emergency room nurse,<br />
emergency room director, and as a family nurse practitioner in<br />
private practice and urgent care. Currently Patti is the Director<br />
of the Vanderbilt Health at MNPS Employee and Family Health<br />
Care Centers. She has managed the Health Care Centers since<br />
they opened and played a vital role in designing and opening<br />
the centers as well as in developing the disease management<br />
programs for the centers. Patti is married to Lewis McCarver,<br />
a pediatric cardiac nurse anesthetist, and has two daughters,<br />
one of whom is a pediatric cardiac intensive care nurse<br />
and the other is a teacher who is the mother of Patti’s two<br />
granddaughters. If not working or with her granddaughters you<br />
can usually find Patti on the golf course.<br />
Chris McSwain<br />

Chief Strategy Officer<br />
Chris McSwain joined Aasonn as Chief<br />
Strategy Officer in January, 2015 to lead<br />
innovation and best practices for their global consulting<br />
services, business process outsourcing, and human resources<br />
transformation divisions. He previously served at Walmart<br />
from 2010-2014 as Vice President, U.S. Benefits, supporting<br />
1.4M associates. Pursuits outside his corporate roles<br />
have included serving as the Integrated Benefit Institute’s<br />
(IBI) Board Chairman. Chris co-founded the “World Wide<br />
Wellbeing” initiative, bringing thought leaders together<br />
globally and presenting results to the Organization for<br />
Economic Co-operation and Development’s leadership in<br />
Paris. As a long-standing member of the Global Knowledge<br />
Exchange Network (GKEN), he has served leadership roles in<br />
support of the “Global Healthy Workplace Awards” in London<br />
and Shanghai. In 2007, he joined Whirlpool Corporation as<br />
Sr. Director, Global Benefits where his five-year strategic plan<br />
helped drive business, employee and financial performance<br />
improvements over all sub-functional areas of global<br />
benefits. Business Insurance Magazine named Chris 1 of 20<br />
“2008 People to Watch” along with Senator Hillary Rodham<br />
Clinton, Mitt Romney, Warren Buffett and Governor Arnold<br />
Schwarzenegger. From 2003-2007, he served as Director,<br />
Compensation and Benefits for SCANA Corporation.<br />
