<strong>Ghats</strong>. Known from Coonoor in the Nilgiri<br />
Hills, central <strong>Western</strong> <strong>Ghats</strong>.<br />
Original locality: on the peaks of the<br />
Nilgiri Hills at Coonoor, at an elevation of<br />
6000 feet.<br />
Type material: 3 syntypes (labelled "authentic")<br />
from "Coonoor, Nilgiris", "H.F. Blanford<br />
colln., Acc. Non: 1944", NHM (reg. no.<br />
NHMUK 20110221), one of which is here<br />
designated as the lectotype (reg. no.<br />
NHMUK 20110221/1, Fig. 10F). One of the<br />
paralectotypes is also shown (reg. no. NHM<br />
UK 20110221/2, Fig. 11A).<br />
Other material: 1 of 2 shells (reg. no.<br />
NHMUK 20110222/1, Fig. 11B) labelled<br />
"Nilgherries", "M.C." (label with species<br />
name and locality in Beddome’s handwriting),<br />

<strong>Ghats</strong>. Known from the northern <strong>Western</strong><br />
<strong>Ghats</strong>: from Khandala, Sinhgarh (or Sinhagad),<br />
and Borghat (near Lonavala).<br />
Original locality: <strong>Western</strong> <strong>Ghats</strong>, not far<br />
from Bombay, near Khandala (= "Khandalla"),<br />
Sinhgarh (= "Singurh") etc., at an<br />
elevation of 2000-4000 feet.<br />
Type material: 7 syntypes from "Khandala,<br />
Bombay Pres.", "coll. W.T. Blanford, 31.06.<br />
5.5", NHM (reg. no. NHMUK 1906.05.05.31,<br />
not registered as "T"), one of which is here<br />
designated as the lectotype (reg. no. NHMUK<br />
1906.05.05.31/1, Fig. 11C). One of the paralectotypes<br />
(reg. no. NHMUK 1906.05.05.<br />

(Jerdon).<br />
Type material: 3 syntypes, "Bens. Col., R.<br />
MacAndrew Coll. 1873", UMZC (reg. no.<br />
I.103705), one of which is here designated<br />
as the lectotype (reg. no. I.103705.A, Fig.<br />
11E). One of the paralectotypes (reg. no.<br />
I.103705.B, Fig. 11F) is also illustrated.
