Concerns related to opening of classes
Teaching assignment may be given to ASF. Payment shall be
made to the ASF if the teaching assignment is done beyond the
40-hour residency. The approval of the immediate head of the
ASF should also be sought before the assignment is given.

Adjustments shall be made for the ARC 1-8 pm class. It shall
start 12 nn for the students to be dismissed earlier.
The 15-minute dismissal (for a 1 ½ hour class) before the time
may be used. However it is not mandatory. The remaining 15
minutes may be maximized by the teacher concerned.
Students should be advised to wait outside the room until such
time that the teacher of the class before their class leaves the
classroom. Students, especially the foreign students, should
also be advised to observe the proper courtesy.
The policy followed by the Office of the Dean and the adviser
should be considered when changes in class schedules are
done.
For this semester, the request of ARC to use regular rooms for
design rooms shall be allowed.
Reminders
The associate dean, in close coordination with the department
chair, can appoint advisers. The chairs are expected to submit
the list of recommendation to the associate dean. In the
absence of the associate dean, the dean shall be the one to
appoint.
Individual report of grades or any official record should be
presented when crediting subject. Rubber stamped marks may
be relied on by the OUR to ascertain that the chairs have
checked it. Pending the availability of the stamp, printed name
and signature of chair shall be honored.

kaugnay sa paghahanda ng modyul ang inaasahang tatasahin.
Lalapatan ito ng takda at ispesipikong panahon ng paggawa.
ENGL 100
Gayon pa man, kung ang transferi ay nakakuha na ng kanyang
ENGLISH PLUS mula sa kanyang dating kurikulum, maaari
itong makredit sa ENGL100.

Pagpirma sa Dropping Form
Inirekomenda na kilalanin ang pirma sa form ng tagapangulo ng
estudyante kung sakaling hindi pa naman nagsisimula ang
klase. Sa kabilang dako, ang pirma ng propesor, tagapangulo
ng propesor o kawaksing dekano kung saan nabibilang ang
propesor ay kailanganin kung nasimulan ng pumasok ng
estudyante sa kanyang klase.
Report sa Atendans noong nakaraang pampreliminaryong
eksaminasyon
Hiniling sa kapulungan na bigyang-pansin ang rekord ng
atendans ng mga propesor noong nakaraang
pampreliminaryong eksaminasyon. Maaaring mag-isyu ng
memorandum ang tagapangulo kung sakaling ito ay muling
maulit sa pangmidterm na eksaminasyon.
ELGA-based syllabus
The various feedback sent by the departments have been
summarized. The core committee is looking into them and plans
to release information in response to the feedback. Br. Ricky
Laguda FSC was invited to serve as resource person in the
ELGA seminar. The members of the Chairs’ Forum agreed that

the seminar could be held on the first Saturday of November.
The faculty will be required to attend. They will be allowed to
offset their weekday reporting.

(2) Local: The result of the preliminary assessment on the
internship programs is ready for discussion. The
assessment was based on the pertinent CHED memo. The
committee headed by Rosanni Sarile (for CLA) in the interim
was formed to look into these points. The members of the
committee include: Danilo Reyes and Wilfredo Vidal for
CEAT, Joel Espedido for COE, Oscar Lacap for CBA, Rose
Ann Abesamis for CJE, Merlyn Rosas for COS.

The VCAR explained that the committee should clarify their
relations to the University Linkages Office.
ENGL 100
LLD Chair Mr. Severino Perez clarified that ENGL 100 is a
required course for all incoming first year students. In the case
of the transferees, those who have passed the nine units of
English subjects in the school they came from would not be
anymore required to take ENGL 100 provided that they pass the
English Language Ability Test of the LLC.

In relation, the VCAR brought the attention of the members to
the concern of the coordinator of international students. Foreign
students request that subjects in English be taught in English.
The VCAR explained that the university is guided by the
bilingual policy of the government and pertinent and updated
CHED memos.
SSD Chair Ms. Cruz shall bring the pertinent circular on
teaching SSD subjects (e.g. Philippine History) in Filipino for the
members to be clarified.
The VCAR also clarified that based on the PAASCU instrument,
language classes should only be 40. Language classes which
reach 45 may be split.
Dr. Garcia, representing KFP, was asked to verify the existence
of a particular ruling/memorandum exempting foreign students
from taking Filipino.
Online completion vis-à-vis distance learning education
Online completion shall be pilot tested in CAD. It has a student
who has yet to pass her Chemistry subject. The arrangement
shall be allowed under the following conditions:
(1) The student should enroll the subject
(2) There should be a monitoring scheme developed
(3) The subject shall be treated as tutorial
(4) The completion of the subject should follow the existing
CHED policies on applicable curriculum and the number
of years allowed for completion
Faculty decorum
Any disagreement or misunderstanding should be settled
amicably first. The concerned department chairs may mediate.
Otherwise, the FA, in the performance of its duty, shall intercede

to settle the matter.
Items in the tuition fee
The VCAR explained that there are three major items in the
registration form (assessment) of the students in terms of fees:
tuition, laboratory, and other fees. Each department may
specify items that would have to be included in the other fees.
The Accounting Office may not just be asked for inclusion in the
tuition fee especially if assessment has already been made in
the registration form. Items to be included in the other fees
should be consulted with students. Field trips may be discussed
during the workshop with students before the opening of classes
so that the corresponding charges may be included in the other
fees.

The VCAR stressed that field trips should follow the necessary
protocol (waivers, permissions, after-activity report, etc.).
Available forms for research related-activities may also be
inquired from OSS.
Guidelines in the distribution of load in the faculty plantilla
Approved with modification:
Item seven should not include the case of the students taking up
practicum and if the practicum coordinator is willing to take in
more than 45 students.

In relation, the VCAR stressed the following
(1) That except for research (UFRO-approved, MA thesis,
Dissertation), full time faculty members are expected to
be in campus in observance of their 34-hour reporting
time.
(2) The 34-hour residency time should be spread from
Monday to Friday or any five days of the week. An off
day is allowed if the faculty reports on a Saturday.
(3) Faculty (part time or full time) should only be assigned
6-units of teaching per day.
(4) Community service should be accredited by LCDC.

The following concerns shall be raised in the admin manual
revision meetings

Announcements
The VCAR stressed that renting of facilities should be allowed
with other La Salle schools only; The OVCAR shall shoulder the
snacks for meetings of committees that it has created. Faculty
are not allowed to evangelize classes with their own religion.
Textbook
It was clarified that textbooks may be required but giving
additional points for buying the textbook is not allowed.
Total faculty performance evaluation instrument
The drafts on the standardized guidelines for total faculty
performance were presented. They are composed of Class
Room Observation Form, Performance Evaluation of Faculty,
and Metrics. The following feedback were forwarded by the

i. Class Room Observation Form: punctuality need not be
checked; it shall be called Class Observation Sheet,
Overall teacher impact be removed; eye contact should
fall under class attention, add gospel to prayer under
ability to manage class, add footnote: “and other areas
as the department may see fit; take out number in other
comments. It was also mentioned that Seat plan will not
be required and that CEAT rooms are not conducive for
teaching because sounds bounce.
ii. Performance Evaluation of Faculty: Classroom
Observation should be allotted 10 points; take out daily
time record; participation in meetings and logging in and
out shall receive one point, the rest shall receive two.
iii. Metrics: What should be determined is the missed hours
with regard to consultation.
ENGL100
As clarified, transferees who have completed nine (9) units of
English subjects from their previous school shall not be required
to take ENGL100. However, they shall be required to take the
Core English Language Test, failure from which would result in
mandatory 30-hour English module, and another round of test.
Should the transferee still fail, the LLD and concerned
departments shall be advised about the language ability status
of the transferee. CELT shall be implemented first week of
June. In relation, it was also emphasized that even non-credit
subjects shall be considered in the awarding of scholarships and
honors.
Faculty evaluation instruments
Faculty evaluation instruments have been approved for
immediate implementation with the following comments: correct
spelling for attendance, replace score instead of 1-5 in the
rating scale for performance evaluation, and provide a Filipino
translation. It shall be clarified with ITEO or HRMO which
document should be submitted and to which office.
EPP Schedule/TOEIC results
Reprogramming of the Communication in the Workplace
Context for Graduates (formerly EPP) is based on the results
(Basic Work Proficiency) of TOEIC of the graduating students.
Starting next SY, the program shall be held three consecutive
days (MTW) and lessons shall be calibrated based on the
discussions of the content subject. In relation, LLC emphasized
the free TOEIC test offered to employees (staff and faculty
alike). Individual results shall be between the test provider and
the examinee. Schedule shall be finalized as soon as the 250
slots have been filled. Tentative date is March 9.
Policy on Resource Generation
The policy on resource generation has been approved for
presentation in the Academic Council. The following are
corrections:

considered acceptable.

A policy on online completion shall be developed after the pilot
testing.
The following shall be looked into:
(1) GE subjects having straight three hours for Monday and
Friday.
(2) Allowed maximum load of part time faculty in relation to
the load they receive in other schools. The maximum
load of the faculty in DLSU-D is 15 while combined load
with other schools should not exceed 30.
(3) SSD Faculty has 52 students (OFA11/ESE) in the class
Laboratory subjects to be closed at 30 students in the OUR
program
